We are visiting from Sydney. Love NYC and the bars and restaurants but the service here was very slow and the food very average. Didn't like being expected to pay for the guitar player after we were seated and had ordered. Not cool!

Greasy meatballs. Beef dish came out completely different to the menu description, tough, chewy and a ridiculously small portion. Pizza swamped in cheese which made it difficult to eat and it was bland. Ok bread and sangria though. The bill had an automatic 20% tip added which I think is poor practice and takes away your right to tip what you feel the staff deserve. Our total came to just over $100. Do not eat here.

I have been in Nolita for more than 7 years and this one is my favorite place in the area for seafood, pastas and italian tapas (it's a cafe' with tv and free wifi, a raw bar, a restaurant serving lunch/brunch and dinner every day!! ... gotta love this place also cause is open late (1am), awesome spot, every time I eat here it feels like home!! The atmosphere is always nice and warm, service is attentive and authentically Italian (waitress is from Rome, owner from Florence) I would recommend it to anyone I know :)

I have lived in NYC for 20 years and never posted a poor review but wanted to let others know of the poor service, small portions & dishonesty of the restaurant. Portion sizes were much smaller than expected & when the bill came the prices were almost 50% higher then the quoted prices on the specials board outside. When I questioned the waitress she said we ordered what was on the board without specifically mentioning it was on the board & those prices only applied at the bar even though it wasn't noted on the board. I didn't want to ruin the day & get into an argument so we paid & left. I use menupages a lot to get feedback on restaurants I figured that I would give people a heads up.
