Took 2 of my closest friends here for a get together on a Monday night. It was pretty crowded considering it was a Monday. But the food & atmosphere were very good, as usual. We had a great time. I always recommend this place. It had been a while since I had been here, so I figured I'd go back again.

My wife and I went last Saturday night. We're middle-aged and were first turned off by the noise level at a table beside the bar because it was hard to talk. Once the food arrived, we were sold on Cripso and would definitely recommend it. Service was at first slow, but once we were "noticed", we found the staff very efficient, hard working, and polite. Our main courses were pork shank with quince and chilies - awesome- and hanger steak, which was also very good and cooked to perfection.

This was one of my favorite restaurants but I won't be back anytime soon. While the atmosphere and garden is always really lovely, my entree (a papardelle with porcini mushrooms special) was something I would expect to get at olive garden. I barely ate it. The mushrooms were just thrown on top and there's no way to know for sure but they tasted like they had been microwaved. I can't see spending $70 on a meal that's been microwaved. Plus the dish barely had any taste. My companion's fish dish was quite good so I'm not sure if they just missed the mark with the pasta but it was a special-which I would expect to be good. The service was pretty bad too and we waited at least 20 minutes before we were even able to order our wine. I'm sad that I lost one of my favorite restaurants.

Took my supervisor here for her birthday as I had been telling her about this place since the first time that I went. She ordered the eggplant caponata for an appetizer & that was AMAZING! I wanted her to try the veal marsala & I got the veal with lemon & artichokes again. Then I wanted her to try the zeppoles. Again, all good. Great in fact! Always hits the spot. The back (garden) room was darker than usual. Definitely great for couples. I love the ambiance of this place. And the waiter was very attentive & knowledgable. To all who complain that the service isn't up to par, try going at a not so busy time. And again, the busboys are always 100% on top of things. & I like that the owner is constantly a presence, walking around, making sure all is well. That proves this restaurant is here to stay.

The carbonara lived up to its reputation......the service did not! However...I would return since the food was on the money! Each Appetizer was better then the next. The price overall was totally average for nyc. I would advise the wait staff to be a bit more attentive, the bus boy deserves a promotion!

Our second time here and I enjoyed it very much. My only complaint is that it was so noisy,. We were dining with old friends, trying to catch up, and it was really difficult to hold a conversation. I was hoarse by the end of the night. The food and wine were great though. I'll go back with someone I don't want to talk to.

Went for the first time last week and have already been back! There are so many wonderful dishes to try - especially the roasted aspargus with toasted parmessan, the red hot cherry peppers, and the veal, of course! The noise level is a little high but it's a fun place nevertheless - highly recommended!!
