Last night was my first time at Crispo. I had heard good things and while I can understand how someone else might have had a good time there, let me tell you why I didn't. 1) Waited 35 minutes beyond the reservation time 2) Glass of wine ordered at the bar was terrible & on top of it the bar tender tried to short change me (can't say if it was intentional though) 3) About 20 minutes after we sat down another couple who we had been speaking with at the bar sat down next to us. They asked if the table next to us had been vacant the entire time we'd been there. We told them yes... Then the gentleman politely asked the manager why they had been made to wait an additional 20 minutes as now they were being seated an hour after their reservation. The manager said flatly "we don't need you to eat here" The couple left and I wanted to as well but my girlfriend insisted we stay. Well, if you "need" to eat there then you are in for some reasonable but pedestrian and uninventive food. Decide for yourself if you would like to reward that attitude with your patronage. I certainly won't again.

Three of us sat in back garden room, which WOULD have been perfect if not for a large table of cackling loud mouths seated behind us (nearly all the customers keep looking toward their direction with a 'Shut up already' look on their face). However, the wine was reasonably priced and delicious (each wine on the list had a description which was helpful). Our waitress could not have been more attentive - she was excellent! We didn't wait long for our food (even though the place was packed) - and it was delicious, especially the appetizer of Prosciutto, Creamy Polenta & Smoked Mozzarella. I'll be back - really enjoyed my evening at Crispo's (despite the bozos behind us).

Great food, Great atmosphere. But an HOUR for olives, red peppers and bread? Nothing even had to be cooked and then dinner came while we were still on our appetizers. Too bad.

I have gone to this restaurant many times. Many I've taken there have loved it. But the most recent time that I went, the meat was not cooked all the way through, the waiter was very inattentive & it was very cold in the outside garden area. And of course, the prices have risen, and so for the money, I feel these things should never occur.

Two Saturdays ago was my first time and I must say I wasn't sure due to some of the reviews however, my experience was fanastic! Friends and I all enjoyed the food, decor and service was great!! So much so I am going back there tonight for dinner! Hopefully it's just as good or better! Good Job Crispo!

I am a native New Yorker, living in NJ and working in NYC. I have been exposed to fantastic Italian food all my life, from home cooking (I am not Italian) to some of the top restaurants in NYC. I have yet to come across a combination of great, innovative, yet un-pretentious Italian food at such reasonable prices in a warm, friendly setting. I have been to Crispo 10 times, and have never been disappointed. i would go back more frequently if they would open for lunch. Great Place!

Being a long time fan of Crispo, I had an bad experience last night. We ordered a bottle of wine and did not like it, they refused to take it back. They then offered my girlfriend an individual glass of wine, which we assumed would be complimentary. Well we were wrong they charged us for the bottle of wine we did not drink and the 2 additional glasses my GF had. This is not about the money, this is about what is the right thing to do. We spoke with the manager and he really could not care less. Even though we love the food, we will not be back.
