Went to Crispo on a Saturday night and the atmosphere was cozy and romantic. Probably the best pasta I've had in as long as I can remember (and I dine often). Perfect for a date.

We went on a weeknite and it was not at all crowded. Our waiter was helpful and professional and knew his food. We started with the fried calamari and zucchini appetizer, it was fresh and yummy. Then I had the seafood pasta which was wonderful with a light wine, butter , herb sauce with bits of fresh tomato. Very fresh and delicious fish in it. Hubby had the homemade papardelle with the exotic mushrooms, it was so good. The atmosphere was lovely and we were totally impressed. Want to go back with a group to take one of their private rooms that looked awesome. We loved it! And, i'm very picky.

This was my first Crispo experience... Atmosphere of the back room was noisy and cold when plenty of space avaialble in warm front room. Poor service; both waiter and server stepped on my foot (yes it was under the table, not sticking out). Food was amazingly bland. Not much flavor to any of the entrees we ordered. At $50 a head...not worth it.

I would give the food quality 10 stars if I could. Food is EXCELLENT and the menu is creative and exciting. You'll want to keep going back - if only to try all of the interesting items on the menu. Service was good, wine list was nice. My only critique is the atmosphere. The place is JUMPING. (I went on a Sat night). They pack tables and people into every corner - making it hard to maneuver the restaurant and have a conversation with your dinner partners. Its a good problem for them to have, though, because it means people love their food. A quiet, romantic date spot it is not - but it is most definitely a MUST TRY for food lovers.

we went with friends who have been there before. LOVED IT. Limoncello martini to start off, followed by Super Tuscan wine at a great price. The food was amazing. the Buratta special was out of this would. the crisp bread that it came with had a char on it that reminded me of a toasted mashmellow (but in a good way). Pasta with Cauliflower, pignoli & currant was authentic and wonderful. Everyone loved their food and I cannot wait to go back. So glad I have to cross the bridge for it, or else I'd be a permanant fixture and not able to fit in the tight spaces between tables (but who cares if it's cramped - the food is amazing!)

Crispo has the potential of being one of the best restaurants in NYC if they didn't suffer from terrible service. Our waitress was rude and flustered, we had to wait over 45 min after our meal was done for birthday dessert and then additional 30 min on top of that to get our bill. Upon complaining, she told our group off (did I mention we couldn't have been nicer about the situation?). If you call for reservations, 99% of the time they screw up the date, time or number of people. If you try to request garden seating, they will tell you they prioritize walk ins before those who make reservations. Crispo needs good management!

We come here pretty often, and though it was time to write a review. This is hands down one of the best italian restaurants in the city. Their pasta and ingredients are so fresh! Everything is delicious!
