    Great Dogs

I have been going here for a long time and cannot believe it when people say the service is rude. Everyone is so nice and the dogs are awesome. Dogs on the Park cannot hold a candle to a bacon wrapped crif dog and Crif is cheaper to boot. Everytime I go I get a great meal, a great chat and a great movie. This place is the bomb!

    What A Dog

I'd heard nothing but good stuff about this place, but what a disappointment. Yeah, it's cute, yeah, they have lotsa stuff. But the service was rude and snotty to the point where I almost walked out (I was getting takeout, perhaps if you're actually eating there it's better). The hot dog was okay but nothing special. I'll take a bacon-wrapped cart dog off any street in downtown LA over this one.

    Fun Dogs

This is a serious hole in the wall. Actually more like hole in the ground considering it is sub-sidewalk level. But that's the charm! It isn't Jean Georges, folks. Just a hot dog joint with delicious dogs and a fun atmosphere. When my friend announced it was her birthday, the guys behind the counter gave her a free beer and continued to joke around with me and the rest of the friends for the remainder of the time we were there. Try the chili dog or the bacon wrapped with cheese, delish. Eating two can make you a little nauseous though, because of the richness.

The best thing between a bun

We Like Food (the collective reviewers of an East Village apartment where two guys and two girls order out a damn lot) say that Crif Dogs is dog-a-licious. The hot dogs and veggie dogs make an appearance at this apartment at least twice a month. The philly tubesteak is great and the cheese fries are amazing. It's surprising how quickly a meal can get expensive especially if you get a shake (which are great though) but we still all love it.

    Punk Rock Hot Dogs

I hesitate to post this positive review of Crif Dogs, 'cause I don't want to spoil it. It truly is one of the finest places to eat and chill in the East Village. Also, if you are a Homey fan, you will have to check out their extensive collection of Homeys lining the walls. Ms Pac Man for 25 cents can't be beat, plus you can play Centipede. The staff are all very cool and friendly folks. Ask them for a recommendation, that's how I found the finest hotdog in the world, The Chihuahua.

    hot dog number one

Crif Dogs is the best hot dog you can get in NYC . I will even say it is better than Nathan's or Papaya King. Crif Dogs has a nice variety of toppings you won't find at the other places. All hot dogs are made to order so you won't get the instant service you may find at other hot dog places but the difference in quality makes the wait worthwhile.. Besides, you can watch whatever movie they are playing on the flatscreen TV's or play a retro 80's style video game for a quarter while you wait. Crif Dogs has set a new hot dog standard in NYC.

    Perfect late night eats

Please ignore that negative review. You can't walk into a place called "Crif Dogs" and expect a great ambiance-- and the EV is generally divey, that's just its character. I order from this place all the time-- and not just when I'm drunk (though it's a great alternative to pizza at the end of the night). The hot dogs always arrive hot and tasty and the cheese and chili cheese fries are yummy, too. The "Good Morning" is delicious!!! I will concede that this might not be the best place for vegetarians... but its name has an animal in it, that should be (forgive the pun) a dead giveaway, no?
