    $20 minimum delivery? ridiculous!

after years of going to crif dogs and having them deliver to my les apartment, i called today and was shocked to discover their delivery minimum had now changed to $20! how absurd! i'm a single lady living in a studio apartment in nyc - how am i supposed to pay 20 bucks (plus tip) for what would be an order for at least 4 hot dogs?! nonetheless eating all 4 hot dogs. i think we can all say from prior experience that cooked bacon does NOT microwave well. really disappointed by crif dogs now. i wish that dash dogs had never disappeared from the les now...

    Great, but prepare to Wait

This place must be pretty popular on the delivery circuit because every time I go, in the middle of the day 5-6pm, there are about 5 people sitting down and it takes FOREVER to get your food. Think Shake Shack. But like Shake Shack the food is ALWAYS worth the wait. The trick is to know how to order because they have some hidden gems and combination on the menu. Love it. With this place in town I would never eat a hot dog anywhere else, bring your wallet though.

    Disappointing

Crif Dogs used to be an amazing idea after a long night of partying but after tonight I beg to differ. The service was disappointing, they lost our order which lead for a long wait. The staff was abrasive instead of accomodating. The hot dogs were not as good as they used to be... thank god for tater tots which are the only saving grace for a hot dog joint that has gone sour.... Better off spending your money at the pizza joint around the block. Oh and god forbid a fire breaks out... good luck!

    What happened?

Was pleased to be able to get into the speakeasy with a not so long wait. So dark couldn't see to read the menu. Food was nothing as I remembered. It was cold- a cold hot dog on a cold doughy bun, tater fries that were frozen tater tots-absolutely tasteless, cold and missing the cheese had ordered. Service was pleasant. Hostess? standing sentry was military. Embarrassed that this was my recommendation.

Is it like it used to be again?

Used to be my favorite place to eat on Friday nights. Loved the deep-fried bacon wrapped dogs. the atmosphere was cool too. With fun tattooed punkrock girls running the counter, and beer. However last time I ate there the punkgirls were gone and the service was poor. They screwed up my order putting mustard on it. When I sent it back I could tell they just wiped off the same dog they brought the first time. Also they didn't have beer! And they were so busy buzzing yuppies into some half-assed speakeasy through the phone booth that the food service was suffering. Haven't been back since. was my favorite place! Bring back the beer, the punk girls and the better service, or lose all your loyal customers.

    It's not complicated ...

I love this place. Atmosphere is effortlessly funky, complete with secret door, the occasional confused dysfunctional couple with one or another unable to find her/his way out of the loo, innumerable students, funksters and civilians stoned/drunk in the wee hours (and occasionally during the day -- well, okay, not so occasionally) or even (relatively) staright-edge and ... the dogs the taters the drinks are simply great. Good, simple stuff, not so simple. If you haven't tried the place ... do it. Crif's is solid.

    Amazing hot dogs and tots!

This place is awesome for a quick dinner on the cheap. The hot dogs are delicious and the tater tots are crispy. They deep-fry their dogs and everything tastes hot and fresh. I had the Chihuahua hot dog, which is wrapped in BACON! Yum! The woman who greets you is awesome, too!
