Sublimely inventive and well uted
Dinner for the four of us....special Halloween - pumpkin menu offered. Absolutely delicious, perfectly executed, tasty, could not get enough of it. From the goat cheese pumpkin flan, served with sauteed squash blossoms to the pumpkin seed encrusted perfect cut of mahi mahi to the mexican pumpkin ice cream with chocolate and caramel sauce, the flavors of Mexico were combined the best way I've ever tasted them. This is not a traditional taco and burrito home cooking meal, this is just gourmet food done to perfection. The drinks are amazing...loved the Cinco De Mayo, the chili rimmed glass, yummmmm

Don't sit near the kitchen
I ate here several years ago and loved it. Recently, I took clients and we sat opposite an open kitchen (the back garden was closed as was the back door) and the smoke was so bad I couldn't breath nor could I hear a thing. The food was interesting for NY Mexican but not great and the atmosphere was so bad, who could taste the food. The menu is interesting get a garden table.

Overpriced for the quality
The food was not horrible, but definitely not worthy of the price. I went there with my girlfriend the other night, having read all the positive reviews. The reviewers must not be too familiar with good mexican food... The food is definitely authentic (the place will let you know that their "celebrity chef" is from Mexico) and not the gringo standard of tacos and burritos or salsas. We started with habanero salsa and guacamole. The salsa tasted like a salt lick, and the guacamole was $12 ($12? Seriously? Are they Rosa Mexicana?) I had fideos (angel hair pasta), and the sauce tasted like they put too much sugar in it. I tasted my girlfriend's empanadas, and the squash blossom puree again tasted like a salt lick. The food wasn't the worst I have ever tasted, but I cannot justify paying 100-something dollars on salt and sugar. The service wasn't sarcastic like most chelsea places, but it wasn't attentiveeven for a busy night. I probably wouldn't go back.

Caliente!
I went here last night with my sister for a girls night out. The atmosphere was great cozy and comfortable with warm lighting and an inviting feel. There was a small outdoor patio great for a group at the long narrow table with umbrellas for shade. The service was great, attentive but not rushed, and the wait staff worked together to ensure that all tables were comfortable and wanted for nothing. The drinks were fantastic I enojoyed the Caiparhrinas and my sister tried the pomegranate & passion fruit margaritas, both of which she enjoyed equally. The food was fantastic, we started with the roast pork taquitos and the queso with chorizo, both delicious. We then split the chicken flautas served with three different and equally delectable sauces chipotle, avocado puree and white bean. We followed the meal with cafe con leche caliente and the smoothest shot of pineapple infused tequila. The desserts sounded amazing but we were too stuffed to indulge ourselves. No complaints! Over all a fabulous meal, great atmosphere and service a definite must for a date, group or girls night out!

Incredible
This is one of the best finds in the city. The food is amazing (highly, highly recommend the vegetrian platter which is MUCH better than it sounds). The flavors are sublime and spellbinding at the same time. The chef, Julietta, marries high quality, fresh ingredients in the most inventive manner Absolutely a MUST. Going back within a week and recommended to all my friends.

Brunch
A group of 6 went here for brunch today. The service was a little slow but everything we ordered was very good. The french toast and the salmon benedict were definitely the group favorites with the chicken casserole dish following close behind. I'll definitely be back and want to try dinner!

Delicious surprise
Ate here last weekend with a friend on the advice of another friend of ours. We absolutely loved it! We sat at the bar and enjoyed some of the best sangria I've ever tasted and a snack of the salsa sampler - don't let the name fool you, these "salsas" weren't your average taco toppers, they were smooth and creamy and totally unique and delicious. When we sat down for dinner we had the ostrich appitizer, the scallops, and the duck - all fantastic! We skipped dessert but only because we were already so full. The ambiance was really cool - great colors, a huge stretch of bar, and an open kitchen that the back third of the restaurant can see into. We loved it and will definitely be back!
