the best reunion ever....this is how it should be done.
This had to be the best dining experience that I have had in a long time. The service was excellent and consistent with a high quality restaurant. The waitress was pleasant and effortlessly helpful with all of our dining needs. Let me just tell you...if you are wondering what to have follow the lead of this fat chick...in this order and no other... have the risotto appetizer with the bbq ribs and mashed potatoes. The risotto was cooked to perfection with a light hint of cheese and wonderful consistency and flavor. The tomato reduction sauce really made this dish come alive in the mouth. Then as though the pig requested it...the bbq ribs were divine...DIVINE. I, of course, ordered something completely different and regretted having to steal most of the food on my partner's plate. But you know what they say about love and war. Fall off of the bone and melt in your mouth good. Along with the mashed potatoes that seemed to have been made from clouds they were so fluffy...this dish was for lack of a better word...orgasmic. If you are a trooper and you have the willpower left...try to resist...I dare you...try to resist the incredible warm chocolate brownie drizzled in fresh whipped cream and melting under a scoop of homemade mint ice cream. And you thought you were strong...nope. Me neither. That is why you should follow the fat girl like me to this restaurant and have a decadent time. So worth the money. For 7 people with appetizers, drinks, dinner and desserts only came to just over $250. Worth it...

Beat expectations
After reading mixed, I was not sure how the meal would turn. Overall, everything was very good. The food beat expectation and the menu was extensive. My only knock would be that service was not great - just ok.

another good find near Union Sq.
The place is much larger than it looks from the outside, and yet manages a comfortable atmosphere. If in a hurry and a small party, eat at the bar, where they'll serve you the full menu. The main dishes look good, but a combination of an appetizer and a salad might be even better, given their varied and interesting choices on both counts. The thick breadsticks are yummy, and they have good (but pretty expensive!) wines.

OK but unoriginal
The chef seems to like two flavors: sweet and salty. Sometimes they are combined, sometimes distinct as in the pecorino fondue. The ingredients are interesting and very fresh but the sauces are, well, either too sweet or too salty. The service is pretty poor. My friend and I were seated quickly but the waitstaff kept trying to take away our plates, bring the main course before we were finished with the appetizer and so forth. I'd say it was a mixed experience.

Nice quiet place to dine
My experience with Craftbar was pretty good. I had beef consomme, rabbit pate, dry-aged sirloin and ravioli. the first thing I have to say is that while all these dishes were delicious, they were also very expensive and the portions were quite small. I especially love the rabbit pate with the gamey taste. The ravioli was very good, but some may not like the goat cheese. I'd pass on the sirloin, opting to go to a steakhouse instead. It was just too expensive for so little steak. They have a large variety of wines, although they are a bit pricey. The cocktails are just as expensive and not that good. The restaurant itself very nice. Service is good, it's a very calm place to dine. Just very expensive

Great place for dinner
After my second time here, I wanted to rave about how much I like it here. The food has been great as well as the service. Price is pretty reasonable for the quality of food you get. The menu has a lot of options for all kinds of eaters - not only in meat vs veggie, but also in size. They have a great small plates selection, and their entrees don't dissapoint. I highly recommend the meatballs! The wine list is also nice, with a great by-the-glass selection. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat, and will definitely go back.

Great food, crowded space
The food is amazing at this place, although the portions are a bit small, but filling. The risotto balls and the grilled octopus were great, as well as the sea bass. The space is beautiful, but it was very loud and crowded. Make sure to get a reservation to be seated promptly!
