    Over the Hill

    I hadn't been to Craft in years and I can say without question that it is fallen from grace, perhaps to never return. The high prices are still there, but now you have mediocre food, lousy wait staff (the good servers were moved to the new place I was told), and an aging decor. I was excited to take people here because I remember it as a fun and tasty concept - I was ashamed by the time we finished and the bill came. I'm done with Craft.

    would never go back

    Extremely overpriced and overrated....the portions were tiny but not tiny in an upscale way....tiny as if it was a joke, $38 dollars for a piece of fish with nothing else on the plate...atleast you would expect a decent size piece...very dissappointed with the restaurant and the waiter was arrogant.....would not recommend this restaurant at all!! Expensive dissappointing dinner and left hungry

    eh. mediocre

    granted, i was here on what later turned out to be a failed first date but the service was fantastic. the server rhapsodized about the cheese plate i ordered, and after i agreed, he went and got me the name/supplier. that's always appreciated in my book. however, the rest of my dinner was mediocre. prices are a little ridiculous for serving size (literally: 30$ for three scallops? what?) but the quality of ingredients are outstanding. the side dishes are considerably better than the mains, but i have a fondness for roasted vegetables. also, my date is one of those stupid pesca-vegetarian types meaning he wouldn't share a gosh darn bloody slab of meat with me. so the pluses are great service and a lovely atmosphere. the downsides? none, if you don't pay for dinner. however, try not to get dumped by your date.

    Disappointed but not a total loss

    Went for dinner last night based alone on the reputation of the place. For the appetizer I had the pork ravioli. The pork was dry and unseasoned and the pasta was undercooked.I ordered the soft shell crab. It was tasteless,bland, dull. Along with that I had the potatoes gratin, not bad, but not mouth watering either. The asparagus was good. My dinner guest had the duck which was very good. The saving grace was the dessert- mini donuts, plus holes with chocolate sauce, delicious! The atmosphere was great with good music. Overall I would not return nor would I recommend this place. The food was extremely disappointing especially for the price.

    Good things can't last forever. My last two dinners at Craft proved that. The space is getting tired, the prices are going up, and the food is slipping. My kids still love the fun of the menu but this place seems to be resting on its rep. Too many other destination restaurants in NY.

    just okay

    Went on a Friday night and it was pretty empty.. Granted it was around 11:00 pm, but for NY standards it's not that late for dinner. The food was just okay.. I was expecting a little more pizzaz... I think next time we may try Craftsteak instead...

    SOOO Disappointing!!

    I think Tom Colicchio needs to go on Top Chef himself! How disappointing our meal was last night. I cannot get over how much we spent for the amount of food your restaurant serves and my scallops were not even warm. $30 for 3 scallops?! It wasn't hot, nor warm and the sauce that was on it was cold. With all the money you rake in, don't you have warmers in the kitchen to place meals while the waitstaff waits for the other meals to be ready? And how in the world do you think it is okay to charge $12 for baby shiitakes and $12 for brussel sprouts?! I make brussel sprouts at home all the time and they cost me maybe $3 for a basket of large sprouts. The ones you serve are tiny - the waiter told us the plate is good for 3 people.....WHAT?!?!?! It was not even enough for 1 person! We are not cheap people and eat at nice, pricey restaurants, but this flabergasted out, we were and still are so extremely disappointed....
