    SOOO Disappointing!!

I think Tom Colicchio needs to go on Top Chef himself! How disappointing our meal was last night. I cannot get over how much we spent for the amount of food your restaurant serves and my scallops were not even warm. $30 for 3 scallops?! It wasn't hot, nor warm and the sauce that was on it was cold. With all the money you rake in, don't you have warmers in the kitchen to place meals while the waitstaff waits for the other meals to be ready? And how in the world do you think it is okay to charge $12 for baby shiitakes and $12 for brussel sprouts?! I make brussel sprouts at home all the time and they cost me maybe $3 for a basket of large sprouts. The ones you serve are tiny - the waiter told us the plate is good for 3 people.....WHAT?!?!?! It was not even enough for 1 person! We are not cheap people and eat at nice, pricey restaurants, but this flabergasted out, we were and still are so extremely disappointed....

    Expensive but great

I enjoyed my meal at Craft, I tried something different for an appetizer (duck egg and grits) which was good and stuck with what I like for an appetizer. Beef short rib which was fantastic. I like the decor and the presentation, service was also impeccable. Very expensive for sure, and I hate Tom Colicchio but it was a great meal, give it a try.

    Excellent service and fresh food

I watched the chef from Craft pick up fresh vegetables from the Union Square Farmer's Market- which goes to show how fresh their food is. This is a great place for a romantic dinner, with soft lighting and unobtrusive service. The best items on the menu are the side dishes. I recommend picking a few and sharing them. The desserts are also amazing, especially the donuts.

    romantic, special dinner

Great pick for a special night out, especially when looking for a break from too-dark, too-trendy, too-loud places. The short ribs were incredible! Succulent and absolutely delicious...among the best things I've ever eaten. Chanterelle mushrooms were okay, but not worth $18. Sugar snap peas were delightful - a must try. Octopus app was also great. Try the cream cheese ice cream too! Atmosphere was peaceful and romantic, and not being right on top of your neighbor is always a plus. Great ambiance for a special dinner.

    Great meal

I've got to say this was one of the best meals my wife and I have had in NYC...despite some of the negative reviews, which gave me caution. Started with a mix of oysters and the octopus apps. They were both great, fresh and tasty. I had the monkfish wrapped in pancetta and my wife had the halibut, both were delicious, cooked perfectly and so tasty. Side dishes were a combo of mushrooms and the soft polenta, highly rec both. Finished it off with the cinnamon pound cake, good, not great. They gave us little reeses cup type deserts for free as well, which were delicious. Obviously expensive but well worth it.

    Still Sublime....Wonderful food

At Craft it is all about showcasing the best quality ingridients with perfect preparations. The wait staff is great. the kitchen is timely. It is up to you to assemble your meal. We had a top notch dinner, the chicken for two is the best chicken I've ever had, roasted to perfection.(you can ask for extra Fleur de Sel) It depends on your selections, you choose the sides... we had the corn&bacon risotto (not to be missed) with a wonderful side order of kale. If you are looking for something innovative that is going to blow your taste buds apart, this is not the place for you. If you seek fresh from the garden food expertlypreparred, this is better the Blue Hill at Stone Barns. But if you are the kind of diner that equates dollar to portion size, or dolllar to novelty, this place is not for you. Craft is about pure quality. I would go back in a heart beat. One of the best meals I've had in a long time. do not miss the Bloodless Mary cockatil made with tomato water! DIVINE!!!!!!!!!!!

    Not worth it

Many restaurants in New York copy their dishes, but few execute them as well at Craft. The food here is cooked in a textbook manner, but given the size of the portions and the price, there is no reason to rush here. For example, my friend and I ordered the whole roasted turbot for two. For $64 one would have expected the whole turbot to arrive. Instead, we received four small filets off the bone. A side of roasted mushrooms: $18. The service is solicitous, though we had to request more bread. To accompany it, two small pats of butter. No bread plate or butter knive is offered. This is not a barbeque restaurant! The tables are nicely spaced. The atmosphere, calm and inviting. The wine list is chock full of trophy labels.
