Decent place for a meal
My wife and I hit Cowgirl for dinner recently. The food was great, but the waitstaff was not too attentive. Loved the Ice Cream baked potato dessert.

One Block Short
So even though I have ordered MANY times from Cowgirl in my 4 years living on 15th st, tonight I called gave the man taking my order my phone # he then read out my address to me and stopped mid sentence to say "you are not in our delivery zone". The fact that my address was even in their systems should have been an indication that they have delivered to me before! I explained that I have ordered delivery several times from them and I am only 1 block outside of the delivery zone (Houston to 14th, West St to 6th ave.) After putting me on hold a few times he proceeded to speak to me as if I was a five year old practically scolding me for asking for them to send their delivery guy one block further. PS. He would have been pleased, I am a good tipper!!! Needless to say, I cancelled my order. I am not to keen on rude people especially the man at cowgirl who is obviously not interested in my business. Cowgirl, you just lost a loyal patron!

Can't wait to go back
I was in NYC in Dec 2008 and we are going back Jan 2010 and this is one of the places that is a must on the things for us to do. Loved it and can't wait to get the black-eye pea salsa. YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Never again
Today was the last time I will ever go to Cowgirl. I wanted to give them another chance and I am glad to finally come to the conclusion that my money is better spent down the street. The wait staff is rude and the ktichen staff slow (took us 40 minutes to be served at lunch). The waiter didn't listen to the order thereby making several mistakes and never came to check to see if we needed anything else--after we had to wait several minutes to get our orders corrected. I am not sure what makes them think their arrogance is mitigated by their food...because that was only marginal too.

$5 surcharge for delivery is insulting
Let's be honest, Cowgirl is good if you are hungover and need greasy food to fill your stomach. When I order delivery, I know the burger is going to be overcooked but I don't really care. But when they delivered today and I noticed for the first time that they charged me $5 to make the delivery I was just sort of insulted. If someone told me that the money goes directly to the delivery guy that would be fine; but that's not the case. Yes, I know delivery containers cost money, but a restaurant that does the amount of business that Cowgirl does in delivery shouldn't piss off its customers with this silly charge. I own a restaurant, so I know how much those containers cost. I won't be ordering again from Cowgirl. Next time I want an overcooked greasy burger I'll call my local diner.

Best Cobb Salad!
I found this place by accident and was attracted to it b/c I'm from Texas. What keeps me coming back is the Cobb Salad with the berried dressing. I agree with other reviewers about the service...the servers really do act bored. As with any place you frequent, enjoy what's good and don't be shy about asking the servers about menu items before you order. If you're looking for a lighthearted location, this is great. If you hope to have good conversation, the acoustics in here are loud when they are busy.

best pancakes in new york
i don't ever write reviews, and i've been a little underwhelmed at other food i've tried at cowgirl, but the pancakes they have there are seriously the best i've ever had. thick and fluffy, and really good with blueberries. the neighborhood has decent but not amazing breakfast options, but these pancakes are totally killer.
