I have been going to Cowgirl for many years. I have to admit, the food is pretty mediocre and way over-priced. That said, when I am homesick for south, I always go there, and I am never essentially disappointed. The frozen margaritas are good; the sweet potato fries are good; the Chicken Chimayo salad is a safe bet. Though some find the service lackadaisical, I have always found them friendly if, on busy holidays, somewhat frazzled. Despite all its drawbacks, if you want to hear Johnny Cash and have a really good Margarita, it's worth it.

we went on 4th of July - were told 45 min wait - went to the bar + ordered some stuff there - table was ready + we sat. needless to say we had a waitress from hell - food still didn't come out after an hour + we were told when asked how much longer "probably going to still be a while...im not going to bother them in the kitchen"...then told 5 more min + 25 min later still nothing...she laid blame on everything except for herself. the manager came over + offered nachos which we already had. after an hour and a half of nothing with the manager at our table we got up + left...i'd NEVER go back to this dive.

Sweet potato fries are great. Big Ole burger was good. Don't get the BBQ chicken burger. Not worth the price and just kinda blah.

The food is fabulous. The atmosphere is fun. The service leaves something to be desired. The chopped salad is top notch, the fish & chips are great, the steak is fab - everything is great (I've tried it all). This is a no-brainer - you can't go wrong. Yes, delivery charge is high.

After years of passing this place by, we finally went because we heard it was kid-friendly. The food was not good, and I can't believe that anyone who lives in New York would ever think otherwise. Not only is the food subpar, but they give you WAY too much of it as if that would make you forgot. I had the bbq beef sandwich and it upset my stomach; my wife had a cobb salad she found inedible; our kid couldn't eat her corn dog.

My wife and I hit Cowgirl for dinner recently. The food was great, but the waitstaff was not too attentive. Loved the Ice Cream baked potato dessert.

So even though I have ordered MANY times from Cowgirl in my 4 years living on 15th st, tonight I called gave the man taking my order my phone # he then read out my address to me and stopped mid sentence to say "you are not in our delivery zone". The fact that my address was even in their systems should have been an indication that they have delivered to me before! I explained that I have ordered delivery several times from them and I am only 1 block outside of the delivery zone (Houston to 14th, West St to 6th ave.) After putting me on hold a few times he proceeded to speak to me as if I was a five year old practically scolding me for asking for them to send their delivery guy one block further. PS. He would have been pleased, I am a good tipper!!! Needless to say, I cancelled my order. I am not to keen on rude people especially the man at cowgirl who is obviously not interested in my business. Cowgirl, you just lost a loyal patron!
