If you don't care about service....
if you want to wait 2 hours for your food to arrive, if you want appetizers and entrees to arrive at the same time, if you want staff that don't seem to care or respond to your complaints, then this is the place for you!! Had this experience a month ago and had friends convince me to give it another try - just to have the same experience last week. To be honest, the food was ok but by the time we got it, we were all so frustrated that it was tough to tell how the food tasted - definitely nothing special though.

Go for happy hour
The food is excellent, and the drinks, which are made with fresh pressed juice are perfect ...at the happy hour price. Food service can be slow sometimes, but the bartender girls are great, and it is not very crowded. I would recomend the crab cake sandwich and the "Staten Island Ferry" drink

How much do I love this place? Let me counteth the ways
I love this place SO MUCH. SO VERY VERY MUCH. Absolutely everything I've had there has been delicious, and I've gone through the menu multiple times. I'll list a few faves: 1) The Frozen Margaritas are magnificent, huge, delicious, and lethal. And cheap, all things told... I recommend blood orange flavor 2) The burgers are amazing. Juicy, flavorful, big. 3) The onion rings are weirdly perfect (the onions never slip out of the breading! How do they do that?) 4) The Fish Tacos. beautiful and light. Apparently their most popular 5) The Macaroni and cheese is superyum. 6) The buffalo wings are incredible, as is their buffalo chicken sandwich. The buffalo chicken sandwich is currently my fave. 7) The chicken fried chicken. Serious. 8) Pulled Pork Sandwich, sauce on the side. Graaaaaaah. 9) Ice Cream Baked Potato. God, writing this is making me totally hungry. Really, I've never gotten anything there I've ever not liked. It's all been wonderful. The decor is really nice and comfy, nautical and cowboy themes mixing oddly well. The lure floater lamps over the bar are top-notch. And you get a lot of food for the money. Also: FANTASTIC place for kids. The staff is super-nice and ultra-accommodating. Kids love it, and are usually there... so take that under advisement, kid-hating singles. Location wise, it's pretty great. It's tucked away enough that it's never too crowded, but entirely accessible.

Only if you like noisy bars...
This place is okay if you like noisy bars. The drinks are good, but the food is just okay for what you are paying. The only item I liked was the brownie for dessert. It was rich and decadent, too bad the rest of the meal was so-so. As for the service, the staff are very friendly and polite, when they finally get around to you. This is some of the slowest service I've ever encountered, and I like to dine leisurely, but this is ridiculous.

World's. Slowest. Service.
The food here was decent - nothing exceptional, but really quite good for the price. The fish toacos wer freash and flavorful and a great deal at only $6. The service was incredibly slow however and unfortunately unattentive. 10 minute waits even for water (and even then, no straw), another 10 minute wait for the check. The brownie was brought without asking whether I wanted chocolate or vanilla ice cream (they presumed chocolate), and food was uncerimously dropped upon the table witout so much as an 'enjoy.'. A simple lunch of fish tacos and a brownie turned into a 1 hour + affair.

There are better options in NYC!
I've been to the original Cowgirl and liked it, so I thought this would be good...boy was I disappointed! While the decor is cute, the place is way too noisy and cramped. We were seated at a table for two near the bar and every time someone passed our table we had to shift to avoid being bumped. Our server was pleasant but the service was very slow. We waited almost ten minutes just to order our first round of drinks. I had the limeade and it was excellent, the orangeade?...not so good. They give you chips and dip to snack on while you wait, but it's just okay. The salad we started with was very good. The pulled pork sandwich I ordered was dull and bland, I've had much better. My husband had the burger which was just okay, he only finished it because he was hungry. The best part of the meal was the brownie we shared for dessert. It was rich and tasted like dark chocolate, but we could barely finish it since we mistakenly filled up on the chips/dip earlier. This place is okay if you want to sit at a noisy bar, but the food is not worth the price. There are plenty of better options in NYC.

Tried it Again and changed My Mind
Maybe it was the jitters of a new restaurant, maybe it was me, but after dissing the food at this place I tried it again and have changed my mind. The Fish tacos are great as is the Chopped Up salad. And it's the only place like it in the neighborhood, so I have to give it credit.
