Only if you like noisy bars...

This place is okay if you like noisy bars. The drinks are good, but the food is just okay for what you are paying. The only item I liked was the brownie for dessert. It was rich and decadent, too bad the rest of the meal was so-so. As for the service, the staff are very friendly and polite, when they finally get around to you. This is some of the slowest service I've ever encountered, and I like to dine leisurely, but this is ridiculous.

    World's. Slowest. Service.

The food here was decent - nothing exceptional, but really quite good for the price. The fish toacos wer freash and flavorful and a great deal at only $6. The service was incredibly slow however and unfortunately unattentive. 10 minute waits even for water (and even then, no straw), another 10 minute wait for the check. The brownie was brought without asking whether I wanted chocolate or vanilla ice cream (they presumed chocolate), and food was uncerimously dropped upon the table witout so much as an 'enjoy.'. A simple lunch of fish tacos and a brownie turned into a 1 hour + affair.

There are better options in NYC!

I've been to the original Cowgirl and liked it, so I thought this would be good...boy was I disappointed! While the decor is cute, the place is way too noisy and cramped. We were seated at a table for two near the bar and every time someone passed our table we had to shift to avoid being bumped. Our server was pleasant but the service was very slow. We waited almost ten minutes just to order our first round of drinks. I had the limeade and it was excellent, the orangeade?...not so good. They give you chips and dip to snack on while you wait, but it's just okay. The salad we started with was very good. The pulled pork sandwich I ordered was dull and bland, I've had much better. My husband had the burger which was just okay, he only finished it because he was hungry. The best part of the meal was the brownie we shared for dessert. It was rich and tasted like dark chocolate, but we could barely finish it since we mistakenly filled up on the chips/dip earlier. This place is okay if you want to sit at a noisy bar, but the food is not worth the price. There are plenty of better options in NYC.

Tried it Again and changed My Mind

Maybe it was the jitters of a new restaurant, maybe it was me, but after dissing the food at this place I tried it again and have changed my mind. The Fish tacos are great as is the Chopped Up salad. And it's the only place like it in the neighborhood, so I have to give it credit.

Great service and good, cheap food

This place is better than the reviews suggest. Our server was friendly and honest about the menu. She told us she wouldn't recommend the gumbo which was the first time a server has been that honest with me. The nachos were so large that even with four people sharing them we were semi-full before our dinners arrived. Catfish Fingers were great as were the hush puppies. Everyone was satisfied with their meals and were too full to finish. It was incredibly cheap. We ended up staying and drinking for a few hours. Great place and will definitely be going back.

    no good

I really wanted to love this place. I'm a huge fan or Cowrgirl HOF. This place was terrible. The whole belly on, fried clams are little necks not large. All the fried seafood was tremendously overbattered and taste the same. Will not be going back again

    Worth a visit

Liked the decor and overall "neighborhoody" feel, and it was refreshing to be waited on by a staff that seems to actually enjoy their job. I thought the food was good (thumbs up on the hearts of palm and mango salad, the chopped salad and the hush puppies which come with many entrees). We plan to return this weekend for their brunch and will be bringing the kids again as they were made to feel more than welcome on our first visit.
