    I am Vegetarian...but...

To the post titled "Good for for beautiful people" - I actually am vegetarian and know a thing or two about vegetarian food as well. Cosmic does not necessarily have the best vegie food in the City. Furthermore, vegetarian food is not synonymous with expensive. This argument that your paying up for eating well is non-sense. There are tons of vegan/organic/vegie places in NYC that serve good quality food but dont require you to fork over lots of money - especially not fast food places. FYI - Cosmic Cantina used to always serve organic/veggie food but didnt charge $24 for a burrito...when they first opened in 2001, they charged a reasonable fare geared towards the local NYU populous. So please note - eating well and eating veg can be done cheaply - in fact Cosmic USED TO DO IT. It seems the managers of Cosmic have completely lost sense of who they serve. I mean $24 for a burrito????? What are they thinking?!?!?

    Good for for beautiful people

This is not the standard 6 dollars burrito filled with junk that you find everywhere. Is 100% organic food and you taste the difference if you are familiar with what good food is about. The meet eaters should go look for other place where they can satisfy their necessity for eating hormones and dead animals. It is expensive but when you eat it, you know why, is quality food for people that care about what they put on their bodies.

    Poor Marketing Decision

Going vegetarian ruined a decent spot in the East Village. Never again.

    This Place is Ruined!!

I used to go to Cosmic about 2-3 nights a week while at NYU. Why? They had very hygenic food for very little money, and zero attitude - great for NYU students. Nothing on the menu was above $10. I could eat a cheese quesadilla for $3 or a HUGE Chimiganga with all the topings for $6. Btw the, salsa/sour cream/quac were all free back then, no questions, they just provided it. I just went there the other night, staff is super rude, nothing is complimentary - you want salsa pay $2.50 extra (about how much a dish used to be). They had some overstuufed quesadilla for $24.50! Why would I spend that much here - for 24.50 I can go to a top notch restaurant? Nothing is cheap here or worth it. FYI guys, know your neighborhood, your biggest clientelle were NYU students or people looking for late night snacks. It is any surprise its always empty? Word of advise to management, drop the arrogant attitude, go back to the old menu, and do what you were known for (cheap food for students). Its absurd how over the top expensive this hole in the wall is and how silly it is to charge for basic items like salsa. If im looking to spend a lot of money, this is not the place to do it.

    What happened?

Used to be my favorite burrito spot. Portions were giant and the prices were decent. Went back recently to find they seemed to be sporting a new image and are completely vegetarian. Decided to stick around anyways which was a big mistake. Cashier was rude, prices have been raised way too high, and my burrito was bland.

I had a great time here!

I just popped in for a quick bite and cocktail with a friend. Pleasantly surprised by the all organic cuisine. Salsa was a bit spicy but still very good. We sat at the back bar and had a fun time drinking and painting the walls with glow paint. You really can! The bar glows under blacklight. All around a fun place to go for cocktails early evening and sit outside or at the bar like us. I'll definitely go back with more friends.

    so annoyed!

this place used to be really good - then they stopped serving steak, now it blows. why? because they no longer even serve chicken! This place is so disorganized. What a mess. It's just a shame b/c you cannot find a good burrito in NYC. Not saying this place was great, but an ok substitute. Now I will NEVER order from here again. :(
