The place is a complete chaos
There is absolutely no customer service at this place. Employees are unmanaged and rude, feels like they are doing you a big favor when they serve you. Absolute chaos during the lunch hour. Dirty tables, garbage is overloaded with trash. This place defenetely needs a new management. Overpriced: I paid $8.48 for a half of a TBM sandwich(1/2 of the bread with 2 tomato slices over 2 thin slices of mozzarella) and a regular size soup. Sandwich was served on the cold very dry bread. Never again! At least not at this location.

Sandwich assembly, not sandwich making
I go to the one on W. 77th Street. Service is attentive and the night manager, Daniel, is very good. But Cosi seems to be in a sandwich rut. The ingredients for the most part are prepackaged -- not fresh. And the bacon?... forget about it. It's precooked, cold, and obviously taken straight from a refrigerated package and slapped on the bread. C'mon people, at least heat it up, at least give the illusion of fresh cooked. I can see why they've been around for years -- they don't have to put much effort into sandwich making 'cause it's sandwich assemblying. but they charge premium prices. And if you're watching your sodium intake, steer clear of their soups as they are loaded with salt. I don't know what it is, but I stand there reading their very busy menu and the sandwich ingredients seem to be a semi-creative, monotonous blur. The pictures look good, better than the actual sandwiches. Stick with their salads.

All about their bread.
Cosi's bread is the best sandwich bread in the city! I just love it! Haven't had any bread in NYC that compares yet and I've lived here for 5 years.

Poor Service
Our company used to go in there and the staff is rude. Then we tried placing orders for delivery only 1 block away and they give us a hard time and have a different excuse daily as to why they won't deliver. Today it was that I had to have a minimum of $20 to get delivery due to their short staff.

Not good
We stopped in here to get a sandwich and some coffee... the coffee was fine, but the sandwich was not. It was covered in a vinegar, the guy asked us if we wanted lettuce but didn't put any on, and the cheese still had the paper on it. All this for a $7 sandwich!

OK but could be better
Service is very slow during rush hour. Staff are either not trained or not friendly. The atmosphere is ok, somewhat dinghy though. Sandwiches are very nice.
