Straight out of Dolly Parton's kitchen

What's Dolly doing giving out her cookin' for nearly free in lower Manhattan? The fried chicken would make Oprah cry, the chilli & rice is good from the rooter to the tooter, and the pulled pork sandwiches are worth squeeling about. Who cares that it comes with pita bread instead of buns or rolls? Orders even come with a free "Thank you 'mam."

Best Turkey burger i have ever tried. The ribs fall off the bone and are tremendous. Try it once and you'll be hooked.

The only fried chicken in town

This place is a hidden gem. I live in the area and order from here all the time. The place is literally a hole in the wall on a street corner. You can't eat in the actual restaurant as there is barely enough room for 5 people to stand. It goes without saying that the fried chicken is excellent. I always get the chicken fingers or the breast. I order delivery 90% of the time, but ocassionally will order take out from the restaurant and collect the food myself. For some reason it takes longer to collect your food from the restaurant itself than to get your food having ordered from 6 blocks away (the delivery guys are so fast.) In addition to the fried chicken, I also recommend the steak cut fries with cheese and the steamed brocolli. There is a decent wine shop next door so you can pick up a bottle to have with your food if you collect take-out. Fried chicken is actually quite difficult to do consistently well as people are often not willing to pay up for it. These guys manage to provide excellent food for a very competitive price and I hope that they continue to keep up the great work.

    Pretty damn good

Please. this place is all about the delivery-- it takes 15 minutes, and you're going to be quite happy. The turkey burger wrap is great, as is the chicken sandwich. Ribs are not the best-- but still quite good. I'd avoid the side dishes as they are not that great. But if you want chicken for dinner-- this is the best place in town.

I used to really love this place, but the new management ruined it for me. I placed an order one time, and it took them over two hours to get it. When I finally got my food, the burger buns were soggy, and the meat was so raw I couldn't even think about eating it. It was soo much better with the old managers, but the chicken is still good.

    Worth the Wait

Sometimes it takes a long time to get the order, but it's SOOO worth the wait. The chicken is the best in NYC. The Turkey Burgers rock! They even have corn-on-the-cob if you want it.

    love these guys!

Classic local hole-in-the wall joint-on-the-corner, with pressure-fried chicken the main item. Chicken, steak fries, and a coke, five bucks. Burgers (beef and turkey on a pita), fries (try the sweet potato fries, you'll be glad you did), onion rings, and a great pulled-pork sandwich. Call in or pick up. Fast service, and ya gotta love the guys, your quintessential New York boys workin' the phones and the grill. Browse a copy The Onion while you wait.
