Can't complain, went on a Sunday night restaurant 1/2 full not busy, not empty -- good service, food spot on, not gourmand -- just really good café food. Started off with small anti-pasta - olives, prosciutto, mozzarella, provolone, pickled peppers - PLENTY for two. Mesclun salad with entrees, stiff drinks, solid entrees, good service. BF had smoked salmon/asparagus mac & cheese (stick to your ribs GOOD) - had plain old grilled salmon - SOLID. add on two martinis + 3 wines @ 5/glass (house - tasty). Dessert big enough to share. All for under $80.00 before tip. Great 2 hour dinner - run, don't walk over. Not a novice to city eating (20 year resident/travelled a bunch too) Enjoy!

This place is on my corner. I avoided it for a year because it seemed like a hipster weekend brunch nook. When I finally had dinner, I realized what a serious eating endeavor this place is. I've been a huge fan since. The basis of an Italian restaurant is the sauce, and this place is invested in keeping true to what these guys Grandmother's sauce was. I usually get take out, but I love the waitstaff and the character the place has. I wish it had a fuller dinner menu. Especially for vegetarians. I also wish they had a bigger space to work with. But once I'm in the middle of a meal, nothing else matters except the wonderment of a simple dish packed with such flavor and taste.

My partner and I needed a place to grab a bite New Year's Eve night before we headed out to a party. We were thinking of Croxleys because I love their cheap wings but then we decided to instead try out this cute little cafe. It was very warm and welcoming when we stepped in and we were seated right away. I was starving so I ordered the eggs, which come with potatoes, whole wheat toast and a little salad. I was very pleased with my meal because it tasted good and it was very filling. My boyfriend ordered the chicken parm with spaghetti and it was delish but he couldn't finish it all. Also sampled a pitcher of sangria which tasted wonderful and came abundant with chunks of fruit. I would definitely stop here again because it's a lovely little corner cafe with polite service and tasty food.

The place on my corner block is booming with business. I can see why as the food (breakfast) is really really good. The service however was not. I had to tell the server 3 times that I wanted a well-toasted English muffin and it came out white. I had to send it back and wait while my eggs got cold. I also ordered and Arnold Palmer and I don't think she even knew what that was. The final straw was trying to get the check. When we got the check after asking for it 3 times, it was the wrong check. If I were the owners I would hire an experienced server (they are a dime per dozen in nyc) .

You need to try this French toast. It is the most amazing that I've ever eaten and I'm so glad I stumbled upon this cafe. They also have an amazingly cheap breakfast special of 2 eggs greens and hash browns, and the toast that comes on the side is top-notch as well. Everything here is amazing and since going the first time I have become a regular customer of almost every day.

I had lunch at the Cornerstone Cafe today. Very nice place, open doors onto the sidewalk, relaxing decor. The service was great, the staff is very friendly. The food was wonderful. My friend had Eggs Benedict with Canadian Bacon (you can have it with spinach instead) and I had the Eggplant Parm. Both were excellent. Next time I am trying the French Toast, it's supposed to be fabulous, can't wait!

I have been to Cornerstone for several brunches and a lunch. The food is great and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is homey and the service is top-notch. The eggs benedict and french toast are awesome.
