The burger's the thing here and sometimes they are great & sometimes they are mediocre. Order them medium rare to rare, they do tend to overcook. When it is not too busy & the bugers are not cooked in "over-mass load" they taste better. If the grill is over loaded they taste steamed & it takes away from the great beef taste. The waiters are not rude, they are fine. They are bringing you burgers, fries & beers....this ain't white glove service...go to 21or DB if you are looking for more than someome slinging a very good burger, ok fries & a cheap good beer.

After reading multiple times from multiple sources how this was the "best burger in Manhattan" I was excited about coming here. I am not being facetious when I say that I prefer the burgers from fast food places to the burger at the Corner Bistro. It was overdone, and quite frankly, very mediocre. I have a feeling this place is one of those "institutions" that people refuse to hear anything bad about. And the service...wow, talk about subpar. I thought our server was rude because he knew we were from out of town but then I saw him interact with everyone else and it dawned on me that he was simply just a unhappy guy at his work. It WAS busy so I can semi-relate but can't you even manage to conceal your smirk when talking to customers? On the plus side, the beer was cheap and good and it really is kind of a nice bar just to hang out at. But please do not be fooled into thinking this is some kind of wonder-burger, drink a McSorley's, by all means, order the hamburger, just don't expect too much.

As long as you don't mind rude waiters and kids getting drunk, the burgers are great. Usually I have a couple of beers in the back (2$ McSorleys) and then get a burger and leave stuffed and satisfied.

...but I've never found a better burger in NYC. Lots of places are really good, but the CB has an edge. Haven't found better.

Went with high expectations, didn't mind the wait on line. Ordered burgers medium. Took forever, were well done and so so taste.

This place is for beer drinkers. $2 drafts- WORD! Here's how you do it right.... enter door, there WILL be a line, but don't worry, before you get in line, get a beer (or two, or three). Watch the Mets game on the TV as you stand in line and drink more beers. By the time your ready to be seated and order your burgers you will have drunken munchies like you wouldn't believe and you barely have time to taste the burger before it's gone, a shame because they are really good.

So I was very excited to go here bc I have heard rave reviews. The place is very dark and dreary looking. I ordered the cheeseburger well done. When it arrived, I took a bite and realized it was medium rare. So I got a new burger and I bit into the well done and it was drier than dry. I should have just stuck with the previous burger. I was also surprised at the paper plates the food came on, no wonder the items are so cheap on the menu. They don't seem to be spending a lot on plates. The music sounded muffled the whole night. The fries were blah. I didn't see anything great about this place.
