Too much hype
The burger is decent but way overrated.

Rude & unclean
After waiting forever, they gave me a seat near a big garbage pail with flies buzzing around it. When I asked the waiter if we could get a different table, he barked back that if I didn't like it I could leave. He knew how long we waited. When I tried to complain to the manager at the bar, he couldn't have cared less. The place is terribly unclean but because they know people wait in line for their cheap, over-rated burgers they lack the most basic of restaurant basics such as cleanliness and simple courtesy.

The Wait
The burger is pretty good and everyone wants to try it. If you can stand the wait you deserve to enjoy it. Don't waste your time with anything else, the Bistro Burger is what you want.

Great placei n the winter
The place has a great feeling; it's warm and dark--perfect for the winter. The food is inexpensive ($10 for bacon burger with fries) and $2.50 beers. Taste-wise, the burgers are really good and the fries are crispy (although they weren't the freshest). It is crowded though but I didn't find it to be noisy. Go when it's crappy weather outside. Not sure why anyone would complain about this place!

Overrated - They only have american cheese!
The burgers and buns are mediocre and they only have American cheese, which is unacceptable. If your menu contains only burgers, they better be amazing, these most certainly were not.

Down on the Corner
Crowds, chatter, and cold ones just off the curb at the West Village’s Corner Bistro. This old school McSorley’s-looking burger establishment blends bar, beers and burgers attracting patrons looking to get their mouths around the Bistro Burger. Jump in line and order your beer dark or light to be served up by veteran bartenders who move quickly and efficiently never skipping a beat. Be ready to be greeted by jovial gents behind the bar who look as old as the cash registers behind them designed circa Henry Ford’s Model T. Be ready and not indecisive for your drink of choice as they make the beer selection easy enough for a nun on a school night.
