Made last minute reservation for a Saturday night. We were taken directly to our table. Service was attentive yet not overbearing. The food was fine. American comfort food. Nothing fancy. Generous potions. Cornelia Street Cafe has a relaxed and casual atmosphere. Our table was in the back room with the fireplace. Check it out!

Period. I hope they never change their source, fire their chef, or clean their grill. Yum.

The food isn't anything special and it's overpriced for such small portions. The waitress wasn't rude and slow, practically threw our menus at us, and when we asked to get order dessert, she just brought the check! After that, it took her forever to bring us our change. I would never return based on the food, but the service was just subpar. This place is a waste of time and money, so many better places in the area, don't bother!

the service was great, the decor is fabulous, and the prices are pretty decent for a west villge restaurant - particulalry the drinks. But the food leaves you wanting a lot more - and left me not wanting to return. I took my boyfriend there for his birthday - along with some of his friends - and was pretty underwhelmed by the food. Maybe I was expecting too much. He really enjoyed his lobster ravioli, but my thai boulabaisse was tasteless. His friend said the pork loin tasted like it had been in the fridge too long. We also ordered the crabcake appetizer -the crabcakes I can buy at fairway are ten times better. ah well, for the ambiance, it was worth the visit.

We used to eat here every week, they changed chefs and we stopped going. Last week we returned. I ordered the duck and it was delicious. Cooked perfectly. One of the best duck dishes I have ever had. One of our companions had hangar steak and another had fish. Both were very pleased. We shared a chocolate bread pudding dessert and it was very good, a different spin on bread pudding.

I took my girlfriend to Cornelia St. Cafe on our anniversary because I thought it was guaranteed. Everyone I know says this place's reputation is near perfect. I guess these people had never really eaten here. The brunch was what we went to. The food was mediocre, just average brunch, no interesting flavors, no surprises, and all these plates are the same stuff of the same quality that you can get for 25% cheaper if you're willing to walk an extra two or three minutes. It would have been all right, but the service was just awful. It practically ruined our day. We waited too long for our drinks, too long for our food, and too long for our bill. We were there well over two hours for a meal that should've taken 45 minutes to an hour. Perhaps the dinner items are more interesting. I still would not go back to test them out because they couldn't possibly be worth the wait. -D

I went here for brunch. The cafe is very cute and the atmosphere is lively. However, the food was only a little above average and the service was extremely poor. I waited at least thirty minutes to receive the change to my bill ($15 for a $40 bill). It took me 45 minutes to catch the attention of a waiter (after very obvious eye contact and hand motioning).
