Best Italian Food in Kips Bay/Murray Hil

Coppolas is the only Italian restaurant I frequent in the neighborhood and trust me, I've tried many of them. I love the chicken dishes and the dishes are served piping hot. The portions are healthy and I've never had a bad meal at Coppolas!

    Great food and nice decor

Cozy italian restaurant that serves dishes you'll want to go back for again and again. We've had the Linguine Alla Mamma, Sole, Halibut with Crusted Crab, Whole Wheat Linguine, and have yet to be dissapointed. One of the best parts is the range of options for antipasta, pasta, and fish. The chocolate pecan pie is a nice end to the night too. Great to go with family or date. Friendly staff and relaxing music.

    .

the staff here is very disappointing. food is ok, but in a city with hundreds of restaurants, a staff that will not help their customer is a shame.

Attractive Female Staff Makes Our Night

So the boys and I were out for just an easy night of drinks and burgers, it was a Monday night. But we walked past Coppola's and had to go in. the HOSTESS is HOT! asian girl with a cute voice. it gets better bc the girl by the bar was easy on the eyes too. curly hair and a great smile. whoever finds these girls better keep it up. the bald bartender is cool too. good conversation guy. so the boys and i had a night of fun with the view and oh yeah...the food was alright too. but either way, were going back. good hangout for boys wanting to hang.

    Molto Bene

This place is the best italian food. My girlfriend and i ordered the chicken parm and the chicken franciese. Every bite was delicious. We kept eating even when we were full. Simply the best.

    Disappointing experience

After getting stranded in the neighborhood by some bad weather, my friend and I saw this place and decided we would sit down for dinner to get a pizza and wait out the rain. We figured that they couldn't mess up the pizza, and weren't expecting anything extraordinary. After being seated in the back part of the basement area (much worse atmosphere than the upstairs), the waiter took our order. We noticed that a party of 20 was also being seated, and hoped their order would not delay ours. An hour and a half later, they had already received their main course, another couple that arrived at the same time had left, and we hadn't even seen our appetizers. I called over the waiter, calmly explained the situation, and after waiting another 10 minutes, he came over to tell us that our order had not been entered into the computer, and that he just put it in. He offered to comp the drinks, and 20 minutes later we got our food. It was mediocre at best and not cheap considering quality/service - tasted worse than ragu. We had 2 bites, then had them take it away because we were no longer hungry. they then brought us the bill for the full meal - drinks (which they offered to comp), appetizers, and main course. When we asked to speak to the manager, his response was "it happens sometimes....why don't you just enjoy your meal?". I will not dwell on this point as it will cause my blood pressure to rise. The bottom line is that the food is not cheap or well-prepared, the service is very poor, and the atmosphere is nothing to write home about.
