Reconfirmed...
After trying a few other places in the neighborhood- Cafe Arte for delivery- (a JOKE- If you can navigate their website, that's half the battle and if you can get them to not keep you on hold forever, that's the other half. Oh- then hope they still make what they advertise) and Bella Luna- (which has the blandest most pedestrian Italian food anywhere), I am a firm and committed Coppala's customer. Still the best food, the best atmosphere and the most consistent chef. Great delivery and good service. Don't waste your time anywhere else.

Great quiet neighborhood place
Coppala's West is one of the great neighborhood restaurants still left on the Upper West Side. It is warm, unassuming and consistently good. I have yet to have a bad meal here, and I can't say the same thing for the other Italian places in the neighborhood. PLUS you can actually have a CONVERSATION there- What a concept! It's warm and intimate and Feels like a hidden secret. Plus, the delivery service is fast. I always order the trecolori salad, which is the best in the city, in my opinion. And if they ever have "Sophia Loren" as a special, try it- It's fabulous! I am surprised to hear about unpleasant service from other reviewers. I have never been disappointed and have been coming here for years. RECOMMENDED.

A great place, but....
This was a great place to eat for me and my wife on our anniversary....but the garlic bread was obviously burnt on a few pieces. On the other hand, the rest of the food was delicious and beyond compare for us. Additionally, the atmosphere awesome and very romantic. But I believe that the service was very good because it was dead at 9pm. The economy is killing their business so i think they didn't want any excuse for a complaint. For a while we were the only ones in the restaurant (which sits about 50). I suspect it would have been not as great in the service dept. if it were busy, but nonetheless it was still great for us.

Great Food, Poor Delivery Service
Excellent Italian food with large portions and priced great. However, the delivery is disappointing. Expect to wait on average 1 hour plus to receive your order. If you don't mind waiting an hour, go for it. You won't be disappointed on the quality. Delivery wise, it's it's not good, and this has happened to me several times in the past few weeks.

Restaurant reputation ruined by rudeness
We were looking forward to a nice family meal and had reservations for 6pm. At 8:00pm, the minute we paid the bill, the hostess told us we had to leave and we hadn't finished our coffee. She need our table of four to put with other tables so she could seat a party of fifteen. It was like a slap in the face. She could have asked us politely if it we would be kind enough to finish our coffee and wine at another table (there were five others available throughout the establishment). We decided to vacate-we could have just refused and delayed our exit but that would have upset the people waiting to come in. I asked one of the girls in entering party what time their reservation was for. She replied 7:30 which meant the hostess never should have seated us where she did knowing we were celebrating a 60th birthday. This occurred at the 3rd avenue restaurant but I recently read a review of the 79th street restaurant that mentioned a rude hostess. Is this the same hostess? One of our party works for an International travel company and will certainly not recommend this restaurant to any friends or clients.

Great food
I've been searching for the best Penne A La Vodka in the city and I found a great one here! The service is fast, the atmosphere is nice and the food is great.
