    Not Great

As most reviewers here have said its not great. Its also not terrible. But for the money, I'd say this is a miss. I work in the area and a friend and I decided to go for my birthday lunch. I ordered a glass of cabernet, but instead got a 1/2 glass. We ordered the calamari appetizer as the waitress told us that is what smelled so good coming from the next table. It was nice and lightly breaded I thought, but slightly overcooked which made it a little rubbery. My friend had a pasta dish which I tasted and it was so so. I had the special which was striped bass over couscous in a mushroom sauce with asparagus. Honestly, not bad at all - just not noteworthy. The bill was $75 which included 2 glasses (if you could call it that) of wine and a pellegrino. A little pricey for a so so lunch. The "munchie" list looked really interesting. If I were go to back, I think I'd stick to the bar for a f ew snacks and a drink.

    Ridiculous

I came here on a Tuesday night for drinks and dinner with some friends. I arrived early and took a seat at the bar and waited 10 minutes to even be acknowledged! After finally getting my drink, and getting settled in i decided to reserve a table before my friends came in so as i proceeded to the hostess and tell her i needed a table in about 15 mins i was given a major attitude and told that in 15 mins i could come back and then get a table! Not only was she rude but apparently she didnt speak or understand much english! I finished my drink and left, and went to downtown instead, Never will come here again.

    Good, and unpretentious

Come on guys- this place isn't trying to be a 4 star establishment! The service is friendly and helpful (if not entirely "posh") and it's the only decent thing near MSG that is reasonable and not TGI Fridays! The food is consistently good and hearty. If you're in a rush before a concert, leave time and tell your server.

It's better than the place it used to be

So so food at midtown prices. I'm still looking for a good place to take clients. The wait staff is very nice and friendly but the food just isn't that great.

    Not worth the money

My girlfriends and I went here for dinner last night and we won't be going there again. We had to ask for a bread basket and butter and they brought us cold bread. We ordered the Scallops with roasted vegetables and it was just not good. As one of the other reviewers said, this place is over priced like a fine dining restaurant and it was no where near.

    Any good restaurants in Midtown?

I thought I found a good restaurant in Midtown that local New Yorkers could dine after a day of shopping or work. The restaurant is part of a hotel and unfortunately operates down to the standards of most hotel food: mediocre and forgettable. The food was poorly prepared. The wait staff was inattentive.

Decent food but not fine cuisine

If the prices were about half what they are, I would have rated this 'tavern' highly. It's priced like a fine dining establishment and it just doesn't measure up. One of the dishes we ordered, the stuffed pork chops, was decent but overcooked. Despite ordering the dish medium (after having been told that the chef thinks the dish should be well done), it came out as the chef desired and not what I ordered. Hence, dry pork chops. The fish dishes were pretty good and the sides decent, but nothing was better than good and at around $65 per person (including two bottles of wine between 5 people, tax and tip), it should be better.
