Walking through the doors you immediately enter tranquility. The ambience is warm and romantically lit with candles surrounding the walls. The food was delicately prepared with endless flavor. My husband loved the grilled octopus and rabbit. As a vegetarian, they were willing to accomodate my request, and surpassed my expectations with a phenomenal vegetarian plate. The service was impeccable. I look forward to returning in the near future.

Convivium Osteria is a one-of-a-kind place. We were incredibly pleased with our experience there, and most importantly the food is absolutely wonderful. The height of casual elegance that is Park Slope. We hope to be back soon.

My boyfriend and I were in the neighborhood on the way to Union Hall when we decided to grab a bite to eat. We are not familiar with the neighborhood so we walked around until we found somewhere we could agree upon. It was early so the dinner crowd had not kicked in yet so most places were empty. We walked into Convivium Osteria and were both impressed by the charming decorum. We were seated in the basement/ wine cellar and it felt like we were transported into a Tuscan paradise. The food was great and our waiter suggested the best wines with each course. When the bill arrived we were pleasantly surprised. I can't wait to bring our next out of town guests.

Went here with my boyfriend and another couple for dinner. Every single dish we ordered was exquisite. The food was savory and of fantastic quality, cooked to perfection. The meats and cheese appetizer will make any foodie's day (or evening) and any of the entrees will delight you just as much. I had the quail in port-wine reduction as a starter and the lamb shank with pine-nut crust and cauliflower. It was perfect. The service was attentive, prompt and very knowledgeable. The meal was very pricey, but considering the incredible athmosphere (feeling transported to a florentine cellar restaurant), the great food and the resulting fabulous time we had, it was well worth it! I'd hate to spoil the great secret this place is, but you should definitely check it out. It's our new favorite.

I know that it's a bit pricy for Brooklyn, but this place really delivers the goods if you want authentic Portugese and Mediteranean food prepared with great artistry. It's worth a trip if you're not in the neighborhood. Perfect for a special occassion.

Although the food is quite good I never feel comfortable here. The atmosphere is kind of farm-country like, but rather down. The seating really sucks. If you don't get a cushion for your bench or chair, you out of luck. The overall ambience, service, etc. should be better for the money you'll spend here.
