Glad We Went Back
Didn't have a good experience in the past with the service, food was always good. Went back this past weekend and both food and service were outstanding. The steak for two was tender and cooked to perfection. The apple and cinnamon ravioli with the duck ragu was just delicious. Don't expect to get a table without a reservation. Wonderful experience!

Enjoyed
Went last night and was anxious to post my review. Ambience was great although disappointed the cellar was closed. Shared the ribeye for two and wasn't disappointed. The steak was cooked perfectly and sliced by the waiter. It came with a salad and potatoes which is hard to come by when eating steaks of this caliber. Their beer selection was lacking to say the least and maybe the waiter could have been a little more attentive. The busboys more than made up for him. Overall a pleasant experience. I plan to revisit again soon.

"Was it worth the wait?"
"Was the wait worth it?" was asked by the manager at the end of our meal. We arrived for a 7:30 reservation only to find we had been given two reservations 7 and 7:30. Of course the staff insisted we were the 7 and therefore significantly late. Strange since my phone number was only on the 7:30 time slot. Another couple behind us by a few minutes was told they had an 8:30 reservation rather than the 7:30 they claimed they had. They left. After being made to wait about 45 minutes we were finally seated in the back garden room. Although there were two tables for four open we were seated at the corner of a long farm table. The other two tables were given to two other couples shortly after us. The ambiance was absolutely wonderful, rustic, cozy, charming, romantic perfect for our wedding anniversary. Although the busboy was attentive with our setups the waiter didn't seem concerned . Eventually our order was taken. Two simple garden salads which were delicious. The quality of the produce and olive oil used were excellent. We ordered red snapper and a special tagliatelle with rabbit ragu for entrees. The fish was not cooked evenly as when I tasted an outer piece it was overcooked, although better as you moved inside the fish. Although the tagliatelle was not bad neither was it good. Mediocre might best describe it. The ragu was much thinner than other ragus, duck, boar and rabbit, that I have had elsewhere. The wine we ordered was not in stock so our helpful waiter was recommending another bottle in a higher range. The busboy was the most attentive member of the service staff making sure our water glasses were filled. The waiter couldn't be found as we had to ask for pepper for our salads. There was no offer of pepper for our entrees or cheese for the pasta. Nor did he make an appearance to ask how everything was. Not until it was time for the check did he again appear. We are giving Convivium only two stars for this outing. We will return to try a couple of other dishes, the steak looked awesome and seemingly perfectly cooked as did the rack of lamb. The food may move to four stars however unless the service staff becomes more attentive (and I do mean the ENTIRE service staff) the overall rating will never be higher than three stars. A shame for a restaurant with such potential. "Was it worth the wait?" Not last night it wasn't.

Overall good...
Our appetizers were amazing. The grill baby octopus was cooked perfectly. Entrees were mixed. Rabbit was delicious but the red snapper was disappointing. Lots of interesting wine to choose from. Service was good, although not the friendliest.

delish!
My family and I had dinner here for the first time and loved it. The food tasted great and the service excellent. We loved the quail with wine and fig sauce, the grilled octopus and bean salad, and the apple ravioli with duck ragu. Their fish entrees were also excellent. We cant wait to go back.
