    Really nice place

We ate at Connelly's on 5/24/09 for dinner and loved it. Their menu had something that everyone in our party liked and it was done perfectly. The place is beautiful and what great service. We're glad we found it as we like staying in Midtown East and this is a good location.

    Good Food!

Went here for lunch on 7/2/08. Lunch consisted of a turkey club sandwich with french fries and a pickle and the lunch special of the day of chicken marsala in a mushroom and onion brown gravy, mash potatoes, and mixed veggies. The food was good and you got a nice size portion for the price. Service was quick and attentive. Had been here years ago and this was my 2nd time going back and would definitely return.

Wow! A Great Place to Go!

I have been bringing groups of students and parents to Connolly's for over 10 years. The food is outstanding, the service extremely attentive and the value is excellent and atmosphere wonderful. I have dined there on my own (without a group) and have had the same impression. Virtually everyone I send there has a postive review, recommends to others and returns. Have a great time!

    Connolly's aka The Oven

Went there on Thursday night with a group of 10, the staff was polite but it had to be 110 degrees in the place. The staff stated the AC was on. We left after 1 drink, never to return.

An oasis among high priced restaurants

While trying to maintain a budget on our stay in Manhattan, we found the price of meals to be astonomical! On our first day in NYC, my daughter and I were dismayed to find we spent over $30 for cheeseburgers and sodas at lunch and over $90 for 1 steak and 1 pasta dinner with 1 drink apiece (only one of which was alcoholic, as my daughter is only 16). On our second night, after having spent over $11 for a couple of slices of pizza for lunch, we were headed for dinner before a Broadway show. As our taxi headed down E. 47th Street towards Times Square, my daughter spied Connolly's Restaurant's sandwich sign advertising a surf & turf (or land & sea as they called it) dinner for only $17!! Our cab dropped us off at the corner of 47th and Broadway, as we had planned to go to Planet Hollywood, knowing full well that we'd be paying an exhorbitant price for a so-so meal, we were going more for the experience & atmosphere. Fortunately for us, some celebrity or other was there and the crowd was about 50 deep all around the restaurant. We decided to keep on walking down the block, back to Connolly's. What a treat!!! We were seated downstairs in a beautifully wood paneled room. I ordered the surf & turf, and my daughter ordered chicken parmesan. Both entrees were under $20 and were excellent! The surf & turf consisted of a good sized, tender and flavorful piece of steak with three large shrimp scampi, a baked potato (which unfortunately was undercooked), and some nice, crisp & fresh green beans. My daughter raved about her chicken parmesan, 2 large freshly breaded & crispy chicken cutlets served over a bed of spaghetti covered in a delicious marinara sauce. My only complaint about the meal was the lack of bread or rolls served, even though there were bread plates on the table when we were seated. The service was wonderfully attentive, and our requests for more sauce and butter were met in a timely manner and with a smile!

    Not Bad

The chicken ceasar salad is very good. Shephards Pie is so-so and the chicken pot pie is quite good. I have been here many times and every time I go, it is freezing in there, so bring a sweater!

    Reality

Standart Irish fare, so don't experiment too far. Little too noisy at times, great bar service.
