unpleasant service, good food (usually)
best pancakes, best option in the neighborhood, but, seriously, unpleasant service, every time! my friends and i tried and tried to love community, but it's impossible and now we've given up. the hosts/hostesses/waitstaff are consistently rude, they make a lot of mistakes, and they don't seem to care. once a friend complained to the manager about the service and he said "whatever, you'll be back tomorrow," and that seems to be their overall attitude.

exquisite food! aggressive hostess
Definitely the best food in Morningside Heights/Harlem. Fresh food and consistently good taste. I recommend the blueberry pancakes, the B.E.L.T (bacon and egg lettuce... the best!), and whatever special they are offering. The beet bowl is yummy but too small as an entree. Rice bowls are good, a bit over-sauced. Service varies greatly, some are super friendly, some detached but efficient. They've had some problem finding a good host-- they've been frequently replaced, with good reason since all of the hosts that I saw seemed stressed and passive aggressive. The current hostess is only nice to my cute guy friend but when anyone else tries to talk to her, it seems like she is trying to control herself not to explode. (I thought it was her job to take my name... but apparently it annoys her to have to do that... sorry!)

the best pancakes ever!
I guess the title says it all. This place was amazing!I went to have brunch with my sister and nephew, the wait was a bit long but that definately didnt matter anymore after i tatsed how delicious the food was. Our waiter was awesome, she checked on us at the right times and suggested some dishes. I love the blueberry pancakes, they were Delicious!!!_ my sister had that. I had the frenchtoast wit the lemon curd, ask for the lemon curd on the side! and my nephew had the community omelette with chorizo and caramelized onions.. We cleaned our plates in no time! I also loved the Music!!

By far my favorite place to eat on the Upper West Side
The food is fresh and delicious and the atmosphere is wonderful. If you are going for breakfast try the Community Omlette with cheddar cheese and avocado, served with a side of amazing carrot hash browns. What else can I say? I am nuts about this place.

Most delicious NYC dining experience thus far
Community Food and Juice absolutely overwhelmed me with deliciousness and joy! I can't stop raving about the hearty, flavorful, organic/local minded, and delectable food! I went with a group of five on a fairly busy night for my dear friend's birthday, and we were given a table as soon as space became available (about 20 minutes altogther- not bad at all for such a packed place). I was immediately struck by the real sense of (pun intended) community that the atmosphere imbues to its patrons. The tables are close together and comfortably homey, an effect heightened by communal tables shared by different groups. Some may complain that this creates noise, but I had absolutely no problem hearing or speaking to anyone in my party. The atmosphere only made me feel comfortable. The service was impeccable, as well, and our server was extremely personable and welcoming. He made us feel like we were family, not guests in an UWS restaurant. And the food! Each and every dish that we tried was so delicious. I highly recommend the scallion pancakes, the hummus and crisp flatbread, and the carrot-parsnip puree to start. The table shared all of these dishes, all perfectly sized for starting appetizers. The main dishes were tantalizingly flavorful and very fresh. It is very clear that the chefs wish to emphasis local and organic food, and the resulting dishes really reflect their consciousness. I sampled each of the dishes, and by far the rice bowl with marinated grilled tofu and the pumpkin ravioli were the best, by my palette. For desert, please do yourselves a favor and try the chocolate pudding! The earlier review wasn't kidding- don't think jello pudding, think much more of a rich, dark, and intense chocolate concoction. The pumpkin cheesecake was phenomenal as well. Oh, and the lattes and Barnard Bears (a really great hot buttered cider, lemon tea, and sage drink) were amazing! The best part about Community? The bill! The 5 of us only paid about $25 each, including appetizers, meals, drinks, desserts, tax, and tip. That is brilliant, on a student's budget! WELL DONE! I will surely be back as soon as I am able.

This place is really good, if pricey.
The ambience is not that great here, but decent. I found the asian salad to be underwhelming and not exactly what you would expect. However, the burger is really good and the fries also excellent. The pudding, which I had no room for, also looked extremely yummy. The diners eating the pudding were extremely happy, too.

Veggie Burger!
They have the best veggie burger I have ever eaten. It's not trying to be a hamburger & has a GREAT flavor. If you don't eat meat, or just want to try something delicious give it a whirl. And the chocolate chip pancakes are delicious.
