Not good food.
Subpar sesame chicken, and the other dishes I have tried are not very good.

Good Chinese
Very good food, cheap, and good service.

Two Words:
Free Wine. With every entree ordered in. So, if you want to go for Chinese, Columbia Cottage might just be your best bet in Morningside Heights. With that said, you can get way better, way less expensive Chinese food delivered (Search: Wai Lee).

Service is a joke
The food is not terrible...sometimes. It seems they have several chefs, some of which know how to cook, and some of which just don't, so the same dish tastes really different from night to night. Still, the memorable thing about this restaurant is the free wine, which is atrocious, and the service, which may be the worst in Manhattan. If you are lucky enough to go there when it is empty, you will be ignored, while if you happen to be there when it is full, you will get the check in the middle of your meal and your plate removed before you are finished. Food arrives at different times to different people at the same table (20 minutes difference once!) and the waiters are rude and totally unresponsive to any requests. But, since the competition is Ollie's and West Place, I guess this place does ok.

Reliable, good quality, nice people
I have been going to this restaurant for many, many years. The standard NYC Chinese fare is very good, but there's also a menu full of things to explore that you don't find in many uptown restaurants. The food is fresh and dependable. I wouldn't call the service super warm, but in my experience, they have always been welcoming, polite and responsive. Home delivery is quick and reliable (although, I do live right around the block from them), and they have been very fast to correct any of the rare mistakes they've made. I like this place a lot.

A Good Time
The food is good, nothing fantastic but reasonable and generous. However, the reason why I spend 40 min+ on the subway for this restaurant is the UNLIMITED FREE WINE served with dinner! Just ask for it when you get there! After a few glasses, who even cares about the food anymore?

Horrible waiters, pedestrian food
The waiters are horrible to the core rude and acting like you own them a favor for serving your table. They were not helpful on what drinks they have. We have not even left the table and they were already taking the food away. If they do not like the job, quit. The food is average and too greasy. If that is the only 'good' Chinese food in the area better spend the $2 on the subway and go down to Chinatown. The only way you go there is if you are desperate. Have had Chinese food in San Francisco, Singapore, Hong Kong and other parts of Asia. The food here is rable. Given the horrible service from waiters who should go to school to learn manners, go somewhere else. Worst restaurant I've seen in New York.
