    Nailed it

My wife and I recently went to Colonie and were very impressed. This restaurant is now right up there with Henry's End and Vinegar Hill House as our favorite in the area. Great local food that is well prepared combined with a funky interior design and a friendly staff make this a Katzenberg top choice.

    Awesome addition to the neighborhood!

So excited to have this place around the corner from me. I went for drinks a few weeks ago to suss out the joint - super impressed with the space, absolutely beautiful, sort of farmhouse vibe but cooler. Had a great margarita with fresh fruit. Service was slow, but that sort of comes with the territory, new restaurant and all. Came tonight for dinner... oh man. Killer restaurant. I didn't realize when I was in for drinks that the dining room was so cool - open kitchen and cool lighting. Dinner was raw oysters with the best mignonette, a rockin beet salad, awesome ricotta crostini, then delicious scallops and a nice steak (not thrilling, but nice). We had to wait a while for our mains but the waitress was so sweet and apologetic that all was forgiven - then they sent us a free dessert (date cake, yum!) as an extra...sweet! Looking forward to the next visit.

We need more places like this in Brooklyn Heights!

We tried Colonie out on Friday night for the first time, and we absolutely loved it. The bartender was super cute and very knowledgeable--so the 20 minute wait at the bar before we were seated was very pleasant. The dining room was packed so we were seated at a 'kitchen bar' that overlooked the open kitchen. The atmosphere was very fun, and the food was imaginative and fantastic. Loved the skirt steak! And the wait staff were super friendly and attentive. We will be back!
