Great holiday lunch. very french aua to the menu. The boudin noir was comparable to any Parisian spot. Unctuous, well seasoned and just the right texture. Haven't seen this in NYC in years. The confited duck leg was well seasoned and crispy and a very nice size. Ricotta gnocchi were cheesy, soft and just perfect!. Sous chef Isaac came out to our table He was charming and gracious and obviously knows what he is doing. The rice pudding desert was a sublime ending. Martini was comparable to Gotham-and they make the best drink in town. All this for $25.00 and they won't take a tip for the coat check! Go-go-go!

I can only surmise that the waiters get lost in the cavernous space of the main dining room. The poorest service I have ever been subjected to at a so-called grand restaurant. Minimal communication, long waits in-between courses, no warmth from the staff whatsoever. Considering the waits, surprisingly the food was always hot. We were a party of two, it looked like all the attention was being paid to tables of six. Excellent food and wine, but I won't be back.

Tried C&S Tap Room for restaurant week. First off, even though you we were not in the main dining room I didn't feel like I was shoved into a small space. The Tap Room is at the front of the restaurant by the bar but it had a good deal of tables so that was a positive. Other good thing is the entire Tap Room menu is offered for restaurant week so it gives you more options. Service was great from start to finish and it's not just the waiter who checks on you. Even the person who gets your coat from coat check takes time to help you put it on. The food was good and all courses served hot. I had the pork belly appetizer which was cooked to perfection. Had the taleggio and prosciutto pizza which was salty for me but the crust was soft had a good flavor. My friend is a vegetarian and they were accommodating since the entrees had no vegetarian options. They made the ricotta cavatelli without the short ribs and even came back to the table to let her know that chicken stock is used and she asked them to substitute as well which they said would not be a problem. Dessert was zeppole and you can't really go wrong with fried dough. Overall, very good experience and I would definitely go back again.

Beautiful room with high ceilings and enough space that you don't hear your neighbors. The service was terrific, attentive but unobtrusive, The wine list is good and reasonably priced. That's the end of the good stuff The food was mediocre at best and the portions were Lilliputian. The marrow was supposed to be two pieces but in fact it is a single marrow bone cut in half and has very little in it. It is filled up with an onion compote which killed what little richness was supposed to be there. Steak tartar was blended to a puree and overspiced so it resembles a paste. The rabbit cassoulet was very good and the best starter. With exception of the burger the entrees were all mini sized and certainly not enough for a meal, although they did taste good. The fish stew has about 3 oz. of fish and a lot of gravy. The steak was sporadically salty and bland depending on where the thrown spices stuck. Deserts were yummy. Blackberry tart and ice creams were excellent and the cookie selection was wonderful. Overall this is not an experience to be repeated. Seems that the restaurant is trading on the owners name, but he is clearly absent

I visited C & S Tap Room for restaurant week. Everything about the evening was simply perfect. There were many options and our server explained them with finesse, making us want to order several of them!!We enjoyed a lovely glass of champagne. We shared a delicious pizza with the cheese just the right amount of runny and then came our main entrees. The burger was cooked to the requested temperature and was fab. The surf and turf(scallops and pork belly)—just delicious and plated beautifully. The desserts all look yummy but don't miss the zeppoli-light anf fluffy perfection!! Every staff member succeeded in making this a yummy and fun evening. Go to C & S soon.

Had a fun double date here the other night - we ate in the Tap Room which has more of a laid back vibe. We shared a pizza for an appetizer which was very good. My salmon entree was not the greatest - seemed undercooked. But my boyfriend's chicken was out of this world! Seriously juicy and delicious. I would say best chicken I've ever had in a restaurant. I look forward to ordering it again.

For the 'uber trendy, pack-em-in-tight and pump-up-the volume' Meatpacking District, this restaurant is comparatively spacious and one can just about hold a civilized conversation with your friends - rare indeed for an eaterie in this area. Very attractive decor, high quality culinary offerings complimented with more than acceptable vino all combined to make our evening most enjoyable and ensuring a return on our next visit to this 'neck-of-the-woods.'
