Best Eggs Benedict

I love the food here. The herb dusted fried are yummy and the eggs benedict was great. small, but it left room for the fries. the hollandaise sauce is smooth and tangy from the lemon. I've had the turkey burger too and I loved it. again, it's small, bit was so full of flavor. The staff is good looking and the girls wear itty bitty dresses - are they waiting for an up and coming director sweep them up or something? I've been seated quickly, and one time i had to wait a while - it's hit or miss....

    Overpriced

This place is overpriced for what it is... its an overpriced diner. The food is nothing special and service is awful

    Poor service

I went here for brunch with a few friends. Our food took forever getting to us, which was strange because the place wasn't too crowded. My friend was supposed to have salsa on her food, and she had to ask 4 different waitresses and 1 bus boy for the salsa. It took 45 minutes between the food arriving and the salsa arriving. The waitress was rude and had no excuse for why the food took so long. We are locals, and we know the difference between a swamped waitress and a rude one. This waitress was the latter. There are much MUCH better places to eat in Manhattan, and most of them won't completely ignore requests. Food was ok at best. Only saving grace is the people watching. We won't be back.

If you want good food and waiters...

...don't eat here. At best the food is passable. The portions compared to the prices are criminal. The wait staff is inexperienced and rude. The restaurant looks great... but a pretty restaurant will not satisfy your hunger. Avoid the Coffee Shop.

Don't they know this place is not cool?

The host and hostesses are unvelieavably rude here. They asked us to take our coats off of the booths "because the owner doesn't like it" but then they refused to check our coats for us. We had to ask the waiter/bus boy/and host all for water, and finally after the fourth ask our water glasses were refilled. Hilarious that the staff here thinks this place is cool enough to have an attitude. The macaroni and cheese at least was tasty.

    Unprofessional

How many coffee shop workers does it take to set a table? Walked into coffee shop (which was nearly empty) this morning around 10:30 for breakfast. We were a table of 6, and two from our party arrived 10-15 minutes earlier and alerted the hostess to the number of our party. She said "no problem. we'll give you a nice table as soon as everyone arrives." The rest arrived and we were told to wait another couple minutes. Finally the female Maitre D, came over and said they were setting up a back room for us. I pointed to a large corner booth and she said it was reserved. I pointed to the 20 other EMPTY booths, and she said they only fit five. I stated that we didnt mind and she declined. "How about we pull up a chair?" She responds, "No, the servers cant get by." After a few more mninutes of standing by the hostess desk in an empty restaurant, the Maitre D comes over and say its going to be 20 minutes till they can set the back room! We mentioned that they had already had 15 minutes to arrange something. Her response, "we werent sure you would show so we didnt prepare anything". I told her the hostess stated she would have a nice table for us and the responded sternly, "I am the Maitre D. I decide where to seat people." What a great Maitre D she is. We left, and will not return, nor will we reccomend. I hope this comment reaches as many people as possible.

ummm...where's the rest of my salad?

I had lunch yesterday with a few girlfriends. I was craving a salad and decided on the "Special Salad". It came and while everyone else's portions were suitable, mine was absolutetly ridiculous. For a $9 salad I would assume I'd get at least a mound of lettuce. I could literally see the plate THROUGH the salad. It was as if they sprinkled the salad over the plate. I won't be going back for a looong time if ever.
