    Most unprofessional staff EVER

Coffee was fine. Chocolates were OK. I was on a shoot at this place. Had a coffee beforehand. 90% thru our shoot, the guy on staff threatens to start noisily cleaning the coffee machine if we don't tip him immediately. He pretty much shouts it to the entire restaurant. On a $15 tab, no less. What he fails to understand is that the entire crew would have purchased coffees after wrapping. So, for a $3 tip, this guy has blown the restaurants reputation with an entire film crew, and flushed $200 of business down the toilet. Would not recommend. Will NEVER go back.

    hand crafted coffee in Manhattan

Outside a few very special places in Manhattan, this has some of the very best coffee I have found on the Island. I'm not coffee slouch either, I own my own manual espresso machine and coffee roaster right in my apartment and experiment constantly with perfecting the perfect brew. While the decor is definitely hipster, and the price is Manhattan, you can not top the quality at this lovely little shop. Save your starblechx money and enjoy the aromatic tones of Cocoa Bar next time you are on the LES.

Go some place else if you want dessert

This is a place to play on your computer not eat chocolate. They did not have half the things listed on the menu- and the chocolate was okay- not worth going out of your way for

Hipster central with a conservative spin

Well, let's start off by saying the chocolate is the best by far you can get in the Lower East Side. Comparable chocolate masters can charge upwards of $3-6 for the same bite sized confections. The service is amazing. There are cute boys and girls with tattoos and dark hair, they definitely re-enforce the hipster stereotype but they aren't waif-ish and annoying like the Williamsburg crowd. Their espresso drinks are VERY strong and they seem to have the real deal espresso machines. Everything is fresh and delicious...and everyone is hot bearded and tattooed....my kind of establishment!!! Perfect balance of young and hip urban hipster crowd. Lots of Asians, but that isn't a bad thing. LONG LIVE THE COCOA BAR!! Definitely not the Clinton St. I moved onto 10 years ago, but these positive pro-active changes in the community are welcome!!!!

    heaven

this place is so beautiful. i hope it is not too nice for the lower east side. the staff does not have that "too cool for school- lower east side hipster attitude". the menu is so unique and the chocolates & desserts are incredible. i hope this place lasts forever and ever and ever...

    perfection!

my friends and i stumbled upon cocoa bar on the way to WD-50 for dinner. we stopped in for some cocktails, which were incredibly creative and delicious! the atmposphere was amazing so we decided to skip dessert at WD-50 and come back to cocoa bar for cakes (can you say YUMMMMMMM) and chocolates- and yes, more cocktails! this place is really nice without being obnoxiously trendy. i would definitely go back!!!
