Great food
Just tried it out for lunch. Excellent pork, excellent beef, excellent rice and beans! I love this place

Excellent!
Since the re-opening Cochinita is high on our list!. The tacos are filling and satisfying and the juice is refreshing. We are so happy to have this restaurant right around the corner!

Darn
On my block. I was so excited to see that a taco place was opening next to my house. I eat mexican all the time. So this was perfect. Then I went and the tacos were O.K. but the main thing OVER PRICED. 3.50 for a kind of O.K. taco. very small and just over priced. I love traditional mexican food. But It was sad that you walk in and it looks nice and simple thinking it would be nice and reasonably priced and no. It wasnt. So I say, bummer.

Expensive Mexican in small portions
As a 20+ year resident of Clinton Hill, I was very excited by the recent opening of Cochinita and looked forward to giving it a try. The results are a mixed bag. On the plus side, it's got a cute look and a good vibe. The ingredients are fresh and of generally high quality. The tortillas are made fresh daily. . . which is also not so great as I found the tortillas soggy, lacking in texture, and then fell apart completely. So not so great on that front. I sampled one of each of the meat tacos (they're very small. about 3-4 bites each.) The steak was delicious. The chicken dry. The pork surprisingly bland considering how its prepared. The rice and beans were equally bland (and a very small portion indeed). And to top it off, the expense!!! (3 tacos, rice & beans, NO drink = over $15) Oh and I didn't even mention that you gotta fill out a form to place your order. A bit confusing. I may be back, but it won't be a regular thing, sadly. Was really hoping. . .
