A near-perfect artisan pie
We walked in off the street around 8 on a Friday night and were seated right away. Service was great, cordial and helpful. The noise level was a bit insane -- could barely hear my wife across the table. Started with a poached artichoke salad that was a great starter, followed by two pies: The Popeye, which came covered with spinach leaves and a wonderfully salty cheese underneath, and the Stracciatella, which blended crushed tomatoes with several kinds of cheese and fresh Arugula on top. We liked the former a bit more than the latter, but the crust on both was chewy, airy and crisp in all the right ways. True, this can't replace Una Pizza Napoletana (Anthony M., please come back!), but for now it's a not unwelcome stand-in. Don't believe the nay-sayers, check it out.

noisy and cramped - bring earplugs!
yes I know its New York, yes I know they need to shift covers fast to make money - I live here and eat out all the time, 7 days a wee -, BUT this tipped me over the edge. if there's two of you refuse point blank to sit at the cramped ''family' table, they've jammed too many seats in here and you'll be rammed between other people trying to make themselves heard over the dreadful acoustics. everyone shouts, so you have to. food pretty good, staff were efficient when we were there last, pricing ok, but damn we both left in a bad mood with headaches after being unable to hear each other for an hour, and being asked to move seats in the middle of our meal to accommodate a loud party of excitable students seated about an inch from us. in future we're off to try other places in the Pizza revolution in nyc. Co. wont miss us, its successful, but really ought to back it down a notch on the overcrowded seating, and work on the noise level. We wont be back here again - gonna find somewhere we can talk a bit, and enjoy our food without earplugs and shouting.

Good, but not worthy of the hype
The pizza here is definitely good, but no better than Lombardi's or Johns. Maybe slightly better than Patsy's. The crust was the star. Soup an excellent surprise! Seating is cramped and noisy. Wait staff was a little apathetic. If you can go at a less crowded time, it's worth it, otherwise maybe not...

Disinterested, untrained wait staff
pizza was decent, but the staff left a lot to be desired. our waiter was completely inattentive and clueless.

Best Crust Ever
This is by far the best pizza NY has to offer. Sullivan Street Bakery no knead crust topped with a delicious assortment of creative toppings, fabulous salad combinations. If you're looking for a cheap slice -- this is not the place for you. If you're interesting in changing your defination of pizza - I challenge you to find better.

Noisy, slow, very average
If you're looking for overpriced pizza in an extremely noisy environment with very slow service, this is your place.

Good idea, badly executed
We were all excited to try the new pizza place in Chelsea that everyone was lining up for. But what a bad experience it turned out to be. Had our waiter only explained that pizzas are brought out as soon as they're ready--and not necessarily when the entire party's pies are ready--we would have ordered appetizers and pizzas to share. Instead, we ordered individually--as the waiter suggested--and expected the pies to arrive more or less at the same time. We were puzzled when the waiter started dropping the pizzas one at a time (5-10 minutes apart) but we waited patiently, thinking it was just the fault of a busy kitchen. But when friend got the wrong pie and another was left waiting 15 minutes, I really wanted an explanation and called over the manager. He was defensive and less than helpful, explaining gruffly that this is how it's done at Company. Fair enough. I applaud the artisinal touch of bringing out food when it's hot and ready, but that should be explained up front. Of course all would have been forgiven if the pizza had been as good as promised. It soooo was not. The pies were uniformly burnt, flavorless, and forgettable. (The fennel on mine was charred to a crisp and the sausage was dry and rubbery). The noisy, buzzy scene was typical New York--over-hyped, over-priced, and really unsatisfying.
