CO is amazing!
I have been eating at Co ever since our office moved into the neighborhood and it is so incredible. The spinach pizza, which I would never order in a pizza place, is insanely good. The artichoke salad is one of my all time favorites. I have no complaints about the food there and everyone I've taken to Co thanks me for introducing them to it afterwards. Do yourself a favor and ignore negative reviews because they're doing a disservice to you.

Incredibly overpriced
-Unfriendly Hostess -Incredibly overpriced salads - tiny portions -Tiny pizzas -Food needs work Not worth the price. Atmosphere compensates slightly

A winner all around
This place is a gem. The salads are fresh and fantastic. The pizzas have phenomenal crusts and just the right amount of saltiness--the margherita really is perfect for its simplicity. What nobody has mentioned are the desserts. They're freaking unbelievable. The banoffee pie it out of this world. Worth going to this joint just for the desserts.

What is it with the dough?
NYC is in the throws of a Pizza War. The battle has been raging for years and, like our own country's engagements, there doesn't seem to be an end in sight. There are the good, the bad, and the greasy and CO is certainly in the good category, really good. Sure the crust is blistered and burnt, the oven is 900 degrees, but it's what's underneath the char that proves this pie's pedigree. The "bread/crust" of this pie is phenomenal. A perfect balance of saltiness and nuttiness with an extraordinary mouth feel. The Margarita has a stain of fresh tomato sauce with fresh mozzarella and basil. It is what it is and it's up there with the best. Simple and delicious, Co is one of the tops for the dough alone.

Great Pizza
I guess if the food isnt "supersized" or dripping with disgusting fake cheese and sauce some people would deem the food as "not a value" as some have written in their review. If you want great Neapolitan style pizza then this is by far the best place in the City. If you just want to satisfy your huger with a pizza the size and weight of my car tire then go to you local Pizza Hut. I guess this is why we have so many fat Americans!

The best Neopolitan-style pie in Manhattan
We've tried them all -- Motorino, Keste, the new Donatella, Totale, etc. For our money, Co. wins. Best crust, ingredients, flavor combination. The communal tables can be annoying and the fact that you can't call ahead a take-out order is annoying, but it's still worth the schlep if you live on the east side.

OK--some problems
Went there on a weekday and although very crowded, was able to get a table for 2 with only a 5 minute wait. Salads were good---the beet/watercress especially. Pizzas were well-executed--the meatball pie & the prosciutto are the 2 best. Disturbing trend however: they charge you $ 5 for bread & butter and $2 when you ask for grated Parmesan cheese. Was afraid to ask for olive oil. I understand that their ingredients are local & well-sourced but these should not be considered upgrades subject to extra charges--not sure if I'll go back.
