    Delightful, Tasty, Peaceful

What a pleasure to have well-prepared food in a quiet green zone.

    Beautiful courtyard...not good food

Beautiful courtyard. Very romantic. But the food is not that good. They now have hookahs here.

Nice courtyard shame about the food!

Nice courtyard setting but the food was poor. Never been to a restaurant where the starters are served with the main course! When the main courses were brought back they looked as though they had been sitting in the kitchen. The steaks and fish dishes were covered in congealed sauces. Would not recommend.

    Nice little place but........

I went there with a friend and we had breakfast. He was very pleased with his french toast and I thought my omelette was really good. We like the food but the coffee is expensive as they don't do "free refills!". we were really bummed out as we found this out after we had ordered 2 cups of joe each. Our bill was $15 for the food and almost $10 for coffee!!!!!!!!! I lived in the city all my life and I never been to a restaurant where they don't offer refills. It was a disappointment and it questioned my desire to return to the restaurant. That's too bad because I would return even by myself if the coffee was "refillable". It makes no sense to pay almost the same price for food and for coffee.

We had out first date here

Rick invited Claire for a big bowl of coffee on our first date in 1991. In 1992, Rick proposed marriage to Claire here. We've been coming back pretty much every year on our "date" anniversary, and now we bring the kids along. For us, Cloister Cafe has a special place in our hearts.

    Wonderful Ambiance, Mediocre Food

Love sitting outside in the pretty garden. Servers are always friendly and attentive. However, the food is nothing extraordinary - a little bland even. I agree: just go for drinks and dessert.
