City Lobster & Steakhouse

We were seated promptly and the waitress came over for a drink order... That was the end of our positive experience. Had to chase her down for a soup spoon, chased her down again and again much later to ask why those who came in after us were halfway thru their meal and we didn't get ours. She then either ignored us or had an attitude... When the food finally came out, we were sadly dissappointed.

While not the best lobster I've ever had (try Maine Lobster on 85th--they get their lobster shipped fresh daily, rather than having lobsters that live in a tank), the place was really spiffy and the atmosphere was quite nice. Service was decent, although the waiters can be friendly to the point of a little annoying sometimes. You can't get a better deal in the city than the lobster clambake: 1 1/4 lb lobster, clams, mussels, potatos, and corn--all for about $25. The desserts are $7 a piece but the fudge brownie sundae is just about worth it. This is a nice place to go if you have a business dinner or want to hang out at a bar and have some seafood as well. If you don't care so much about decor though, I'd strongly suggest trying out Maine Lobster instead.

We arrived at the well reviewed eatery and were shown to our table and promptly had two waiters argue in front of us over who would HAVE to take our table. Terrible staff, Marginal food, Lobster served with Faux butter and over priced. Our worst experience in an 8 day vacation in the City. The manager was a baffoon looking in a mirror. Don't waste your time or palette at this nice LOOKING place.

This restaurant is all about the lobster. We had the 3 lb new england lobster stuffed with a crabcake. Best value and delicous. Also, we had the lobster spring roll and fried calamri for appitizers. Fantastic. You should only go there for one thing though...LOBSTER!

Hands down best place for lobsters in nyc, the broiled stuffed rocks! Other menu items are winners also but if you like lobsters done right, this is the joint!
