Crabby...?
Went for a casual business lunch intending to get the prix fix special. With nothing good on there, I ordered the softshell crabs with a side of the mushrooms. Both were very bland, crabs weren't meaty at all.

Lovely
I went on a recommendation from a co-worker. I took my boyfriend and I must say I enjoyed their food. I had the 2-lb lobster, I must say it didn't look like 2-lbs but it was the best lobster I have had, it was so fresh! Put out the extra $$ and spring for City Lobster forget that City Island stuff! The lobster and scallion mash was great! My boyfriend had the Seafood stew he was taken aback! He loved it. He also loved my lobster and scallion mash a little too much! This is a recommendation! Oh, good oysters too. The service was decent considering we went on a slow night. They even cracked my lobster for me... This one get's an A!

Not Recommended
I went to City Lobster on Saturday night. My boyfriend and I split an appetizer and each ordered a 2 lb lobster. The service was poor. We never got bread, our appetizer came out before our drinks and there is NO way we actually received 2 - 2 lb lobsters. We were in and out of the restaurant in 30 minutes. If I am going to pay $200 for dinner, I expect not to be treated like I am sitting at a diner.

Relaxed atmosphere
We go to this place regularly for lunch and everyone is happy. The atmosphere is not too corporate and the waiters are so nice - they are really good at recognizing regulars. Their restaurant week menus always have a great selecion. Try the lobster mashed.

Good stuff
I love this place, food is really yummy, try the lobster and scallion mash, and lobster spring roll. Crab cakes nice and meaty! Nice comfortable atmosphere.

Promotions that alienate customers
I visited the restaurant with my wife during Restaurant Week prior to going to the theatre. I had a 6:30 reservation and we arrived at 6:45 to be told that a table would be available shortly - it was available within 5 minutes. We were seated and ordered from the Restaurant Week Menu. My ordered the lobster and was told that nothing came with it. We placed an order for a side dish for her. Prior to that evening I had never gone to a restaurant where when ordering a lobster nothing came with it. To add insult to injury the waiter had failed to order the side dish so my wife had to wait for it with the entre in front of her. This restaurant either doen't know or care that a promotion is suppose to bring in business and also result in repeat business. I for one would not go to this restaurant again and more importantly I would not recommend it to anyone.

4 bucks + a scallop!
I took a friend here for a pre-holiday lunch today. It's a good thing I made reservations because the place was packed with pre-matinee (it was a Wednesday) people and tourists in for the Christmas tree in Rock Center (it's Dec. 15th). With reservations, we got a nice table in front of the large windows. Non-reserveration people were eating at the bar. The service is friendly, but absent-minded. No one ever checked to see if we wanted more drinks or to see if everythig was okay. But, the big surprise was the serving. I ordered the pan-seared diver's scallops. First of all, they were too watery to have been near a diver. And for $21, I got 5 scallops--and nothing else! Or maybe the sprig of watercress was my salad.... My friend had a prawn special that was four good-sized shrimp (head on) served over something that looked like scrambled eggs, but was supposed to be risotto. I didn't ask for a taste! My advice: go someplace else. The food's not worth the price.
