Felt Shorted
Ate here several times over the last few years and always enjoyed a very expensive but delicious and satisfying meal. I took my son a few weeks ago and had a horrible meal at exorbitant prices that were not reflective of our economy. No horse radish for my dozen clams and no pan roasted oysters, which is their specialty. That should have been my sign to leave. Instead, I was lured to a broiled Dover sole and asked if I wanted rice on the side. I trusted the sugary sweet waitress and realized later I was duped away from my moderate priced panroast to the most expensive fish off the menu. The sole was dripping in butter and barely edible--at $39.00. The Basmati rice tasted like it was a 3-day old reheat--at $9.00! So, for a mere $48.00 meal I left City Hall feeling conned and vowed never to return. Shame on Chef Henry. I know times are hard, but ripping off your customers is not very smart.

don't recommend
Nice place, roomy comfortable seating. The steak has gone downhill. Once it was good, way back when . Now it can be close to inedible. I dont recommend

Delightful lunch
Had a Restaurant Week lunch at City Hall and was extremely pleased. The ambience, service and food was excellent. We had filet mignon and it was just delicious, as was the appetizer and dessert. We'll definitely be back.

great dinner tonight!
So I am a tribeca kid... and my mom took me here for kicks tonight. I got the Salmon/tuna tartare and it was EXTREMELY DELICIOUS. It was a bit on the salty side but I did not mind that. I would rate it 9/10 (though I had Cercle Rouge's tuna tartare and I would give that a 9.5/10). I liked that City Hall's version came with 4 pieces of toast when Cercle Rouge's came with none. After that I had the maryland crab cakes, and I was in crab heaven. They were flavorful, crisp on the outside and soft on the inside.... wonderful, with creme fraiche on the side. YUM. To end I had 2 raw oysters, for I am a new raw oyster fan and I am 23 yrs old. The food - wonderful and delicious. The service - there for you but not overbearing. The place - tall ceilings, art by Robert Mango, and plus we watched the Yankee game on the TV by the bar. Only complaint - my $11 mango mojito was kind of weak for my taste, I would have put a lot more rum in it, but hey- you can't always get what you want. Overall - go there and feast on the seafood.

Far better restaurants to try...
Overpriced, non exciting menu. Inattentive service. The restaurant itself is attractive (great bathrooms) but was a huge disappointment.

Dinner with Friends
We had dinner to at this place to celebrate the birthday of a friend. I would have to say that the food and service was great, I would recommend the Chateaubriand (for two).

Solid
Dinner with the family on a Saturday night. Simple food prepared nearly flawlessly. No crazy unexpected dishes, just fresh perfectly executed plates. The seafood towers are ridiculously delicious if you're a raw seafood lover. The steaks were also exceptional, though pricey.
