    Mediocre lunch

Went here with the family for lunch, and the food was mediocre at best. My grilled swordfish sandwich was so dry and devoid of flavor that I had to send it back. The hamburger our daughter had was burned and tasteless. The lobster roll DW had was ok, so not all was lost. Our waiter forgot to bring our wine. In overall felt more like a diner than a restaurant. Perhaps the dinner quality is better judging from prior reviews.

    I absolutely love it!

City crab is my favorite seafood restaurant by far. if you're looking for lobster, look no further! for a place in manhattan, and a great location, the prices are pretty reasonable. i tend to stick with the special that includes lobster, clams, oysters, corn, and potatoes ($19.95 right now) and thats a great deal! their food is even cheaper than red lobster's (in times SQ) and more fresh and just really good. i would recommend trying it at least once if you love seafood.

    Great Seafood

Last week my boyfriend and I checked out this place. I had been wanting to go here for such a long time. Our server was very friendly. When we ordered the wine we had Cabernet in mind. The server made his recommendation : the most expensive one. We had a min. to decide on one and picked a med. priced one. We joke that I bet they "wouldn't" have it but would have the most expensive one. We were right - how conveinient. Besides that we had a great meal. My alaskan king crab legs were to die for. I still dream about them. The place could use a renovation - for the food they are serving it should look a little classier (esp. w/the prices). I would def. love to go back.

    Great experience

City crab was one of the best dining experiences in a seafood restaurant, the food is always fresh and quality is great. slightly on the pricey side but you get what you pay for! I try to go as often as my wallet will let me.

    Good food, high priced.

City Crab consistently serves great, fresh seafood. A little on the pricey side, so I don't frequent it, but it's worth it for a night out when you want a guaranteed good meal. No problems with the service; in fact, my waiter was extraordinarily nice. Usually no wait, so there's no need to call ahead. They have two floors and an incredibly large amount of tables, and they're usually 80% full. Most people I know love it there, so it's not unpopular. I'd recommend it as a good city standard.

    Disappointed

I was disappointed after going here this past weekend, 8:30 on Saturday night. Our party of 7 (including the one who chose this restaurant) was seated immediately which should have told us something. The service was very slow. I ordered the chopped salad and crab cakes appetizer for my dinner. For $14.00 I expected more than 1 crab cake, not a good value , tho it tasted good and my salad arrived after we were all nearly done with dinner. The waiter was pleasant enough just not very good at tending to our table. We had to ask him several times to fill our water glasses and bring lemon, just little things that I expect to be done without asking. I will never go there again. Unfortunately with 7 people a 20% gratuity was already included in the bill, I would not have left that much!

    Love it

I have eaten at City Crab numerous times and I always enjoy myself. It's not exactly diner prices but the quality is worth the extra few bucks! I've had very good service and very bad service there, something managment may want to keep an eye on. But overall I love eating there and I'm always looking for an excuse to get to that neighborhood so I can have some fabulous oysters and juicy lobster tail!
