Food was good, but the service was very slow and not attentive. The restaurant was a little noisy. Overall, a good experience.

I just read some of these reviews and I think they are a little harsh. I eat there every now and then and the food and service is pretty good. I go in the mid afternoon and tend to sit at the bar unless I am with a client. The decor is a little dated but i always thought the staff was friendly and the crab cakes are probably the best I have had in New York. The bartender makes a killer Bloody Mary too! As long as you're not expecting Per Se in in for an enjoyable time

My friend and I just went here for restaurant week. It was a solid pick. I got the lobster appetizer and the lobster entree, which were both delicious. My friend got the crab cakes, which were miniture and the crabmeat stuffed fish, which was delicious and original. The space was very large. Decorated like your average large seafood restaurant. Service was great too. Overall, a well worth it Restaurant Week experience!

I went here for the first time a few days ago and was very disappointed! I have never had such poor service. Our waitress took our order and disappeared. When only 2 of the 4 appetizers came out together, we had to flag down a different waiter to question it. Unfortunately, it did nothing. They still never came out! Then when the entrees arrived we asked for an extra fork and some lemon... again, they never came. After waiting 5 minutes, my friend had to get up and walk over to another table to take a fork. At this point I was very annoyed and asked another waiter to find our waitress. When she came and I asked her where she had been for the past 30-40 minutes, she just rolled her eyes! Aside from this, we were all disappointed with the food. For the price, this experience should have been much better.

Yeah, the place is a little pricey, but the legs are great. Here's a hint to some of my fellow reviewers, the pace is called "City Crab", not "City Flounder".

I've always wanted to go to City Crab and Restaurant Week gave me the excuse. The place itself was a little disappointing because I thought it'd be more than it was. Next time I'm requesting to sit upstairs because it was cooler. My husband & I enjoyed sitting by the window and watching the world go by. The menu for Restaurant week was a good mix-my husband is not a big seafood eater but there was something for him. I love crab so it was perfect. The crab cake was meaty and the softshell crab was delicious. Our waiter was attentive...he just came on so it was good for us. I'm sure as the crowd grows that changes also. I guess I was expecting a little more upscale, but at the end of the day, its a fish place. We'd definitely go back....the crab legs looked great !!

been going to CC infrequently for many years. table service so crappy, i tend to eat at the bar. bartenders have ranged from great to inattentive to completely insulting. bar can get loud - populated with aholes wearing too much aqua velva and complaining that they got shorted on booze in their dean martins (can't win - bring a friend or the New Yorker to distract self). have eaten plenty of fish here - it's nothing special - largely underseasoned. i go for the reliable crab cakes, decent slaw, and bargain wine list. and, of course, the motley-watching.
