    Incredible

I went to Citrus the other night because of a recommendation from a friend. I had SUCH a good time!!! They call the food Latin Fare with an Asian Flare. I've never heard of or seen flavors/foods like these together. The drinks were spectacular and though some of these reviews say the service is poor, I had a perfectly wonderful experience. The food is delicious! I will definitely be going back!

    Quality down, prices up

I used to be a regular Citrus / Josies' delivery person (at least once a week). However, I have decided to stop ordering from there. There must have been a change in chef as the food quality has gone down since last summer (e.g., two bones in chicken knuckles burritos portions smaller, over seasoning, general inconsistency, etc) , and the prices have gone up (nearly 15% in some cases). Further, the minimum delivery has increased to $15. Its too bad - the menu has great variety and the organic concept is a good one. Don't waste your money - you will be disappointed.

    Food so-so, service no-no

I ate at Citrus for dinner, and while the atmosphere is nice, the food was only so-so and the service was awful. When the waiter first approached our table, he grumbled 'Ready to order?' instead of a more appreciated 'How are you tonight?' and other standard greetings to make you feel welcomed to their restaurant. All night, the busboys kept clearing empty items off our table, but not asking for refills on beverages or if we needed anything else. The waiter continued to be uninterested & rude, particularly when offering us dessert, which was a choice of 3 items . While the desserts were delicious, we were disappointed with the menu limitations. The waiter at the station next to us seemed nice from our brief observation, so it's possible that only our waiter was an issue, though I stand by my opinions that the busboys were also a bit too quick to clear our items off the table (like vultures as we finished each dish), AND the food isn't so spectacular that I would consider trying it again. Sorry to those who love it, but this one I won't be recommending to friends.

The service was excellent, not the food

I wanted to go to Citrus for a while and when I finally did I was totally dissappointed. I rarely write reviews but after seeing all the positive feedback I felt it was my duty. The service at Citrus was amazing. One of the few places that when you order a drink you get it right away. However everything else was sub par. The taco trio tasting was decent but alot of the flavors just did not go. As for diner I could have made everything better myself. Citrus is not super expensive but totaly over priced and the atmospher is not all its cracked up to be. Any body that loves food and has a knowledge of it should stay away.

    Citrus Me Up

Stopped by on a Monday night, it was quite surprising how busy it was. Was put on a wait-list for about 15 mins. Food was elegantly tasteful and enjoyed the fusion of flavors. I would recommend the Skirt Steak or the Rib-eye (if its available, usually a special) or the salmon dish. Overall experience was pleasant. Good location, easy to find and ambiance was relaxing. Tables may have been set a little too close together, but hey, its New York City. What do you expect? Skip the wait, I suggest making a reservation before hand and if you’d like a quieter dinning experience, ask to be seated in the back.

    Excellent food and service

I went to Citrus for the first time last night and was really amazed by how good the food was. It was one of the best meals I've had on the UWS. Sushi was amazingingly fresh, salad was unique and delicious and the main courses fantastic with an interesting fusion of flavors. Service was quick and very friendly. Unlike other reviewers, I didn't find the noise to be different than any other crowded NYC restaurant and the atmosphere is actually quite nice. Loved this dining experience!

Very good food skip peak hours

From the quesadillas to the pasta to the steak, the food we've had there is excellent. The complimentary chips are awesome and the drinks are fresh and tasty. The service is slow on crowded nights and the dining room is loud. I would highly reccomend it for off-peak times peak, not so much. The noise is really a mood-killer.
