Worth a try
I come here quite often as I live in the area and each time is a different experience. Sometimes the service is great, most of the time it's poor and the orders are screwed up. Prices aren't too good, but they have an amazing Bloody mary for brunch. If you are not from NY, you will like this place, and if you live in the city, be prepared for the unknown.

Citrus Roll!
Citrus roll is outstanding! I'm addicted. Great atmosphere, great drinks and great service.

Fusion or Confusion?
I came here for the first time recently and had the paella valencia, which was terrific. However, the menu is all over the map. I guess that's fusion--but it also makes the place unfocused. It's like going to the supermarket and having to select from all the different kinds of cereals that are out there. That being said, if your party all wants something different, here's a place that has something for everyone. A minor caveat: why is the takeout menu different from the restaurant menu? Frankly, I prefer the takeout menu.

Good? Really? Seriously...
I don't know where these other reviewers eat or what their typical dining out expectations are BUT... this place is poor. Very symptomatic of what so much of the New York dining out scene has become. Expensive, subpar food and worse service. Enjoyed eating here several years ago when it first opened. Now, with sushi, paella and margaritas, the place has no idea of what it is trying to be. I live one block away and my most recent experience was this evening. Ordered the skirt steak, rare. Came well done. Pointed it out to the server, who in turn became very defensive. Second try, the steak came medium rare, however the sides were reduced by about half the original portion and presentation magically became very sloppy. I won't be returning, nor ordering take-out. This was their last chance.

The Wolf Fish
I was first introduced to the wolf fish at Citrus last October when we went out with my fiance's friends. Since then, we have been craving wolf fish. We go back to Citrus at least once a month for the wolf fish. Let me describe this wolf fish for you: it's miso glazed, sweet and tender, like chilean seabass, yet meaty, like monkfish, satisfying any gormand. The delicious wolf fish also comes with a side of delightful stir-fried mixed vegetables. Good times will be had if you try Citrus' incredible wolf fish. Citrus' margherita's rock too, but the wolf fish is the superstar entree'.

A Mother's Day Gift to Herself!
I recently chaperoned a trip to NY with my daughter's chorus and ate fast food to 2 days in a row followed by a dismal meal at a Friday's that was over priced and had poor service. By the 3rd day, which happened to be Mother's Day, I told my group that I would be in charge of the meal. I happened upon Citrus and it made my mother's day. It was tween friendly and I ate my first real meal of the trip. We had a little of everything on the menu, and enjoyed tasting each others choices. I loved the trio dip appetizer and the chicken salad was divine! We came out spending less than we did at Friday's and we enjoyed our latin-asian inspired meal! Thank you citrus for a wonderful mother's day dinner!
