Poor service
After a hiatus of a few years, returned to Circo for a pre-theater dinner. The food was good, but portions were reduced. No longer given complimentary pizza upon sitting down. Host was very rude, pushing the guests to pass through and remarking on normal levels of talking as screaming. No longer a good/fun restaurant.

excellence during RW
with restaurant week, u never know how the food is going to be...OMG, I was pleasantly surprised...the salmon tartare was the best i have ever tasted. then i had a chicken dish with swiss chard, potatoes and onions, again tasty. we had reservations for 3 people...when we arrived there were just 2 of us ..we thought the other person wasnt coming, so we sat at a table for 2..after being served our appetizers...the 3rd person arrived...we were immediately moved to a larger table, without any problem, attitude or anything negative...that so mpressed me..also the bread basked was awesome... I had gelato and the others had apple strudel...we left very stuffed and satisfied with the restaurant, food, waitstaff......I recommend highly.

OK
Hi, went here yesterday during RW for dinner. Was at Le Cirque on Monday and have been there before and love it, so I figured I'd give this a try. Overall not impressed, but it wasn't bad either. We had a variety of dishes and most were tasty, nothing blew me away, and a couple were questionable. But overall I would just call the food OK considering the regular prices. The portions were fairly small (Le Cirque gives much more food) mind you my guest had the Tasting menu which had even smaller portions than RW it seemed. I didn't leave starving but I was far from full also. The space is nice, but yields a little of a chain restaurant look to me, reminded me of the Wolfgang Puck place at Disney. Service was a little spotty, but better than average. Overall, there are far better places for the same pricie. Sorry, I love Le Cirque so I hope the brothers can revitalize Osteria.

good lunch
Today I had a very delicious ravioli and enjoyed my lunch at Circo. Service was fine and I would return.

Great Experience
It was my first time and I would definitely recommend this place. The service was top notch from the minute we stepped in. The decor was lovely and the high feelings gave a nice effect. We had the Sea Bass and Raviolis which were "good". I've had better as far as food, but overall a great experience.

Fabu!
This place was excellent. Do not listen to negative patrons! If you are in midtown and want some quality (authentic) Italian cuisine, try this place! The ravioli is superb!

very disappointed
I have been to Le Cirque many times at both locations and never have been disappointed with food or service. I was going to City Center so Osteria del Circo was across the street. I assumed it would have the same quality service and food. We were served cocktails quickly. The waiter did not understand the menu and had to get the manager to help us with a request. An incorrect salad arrived first, the main courses took forever. There was no time for coffee or dessert. The whole atmosphere was disorganized. I think the restaurant needs some fine tuning.
