    awesome!

My husband and I came across this place randomly! They had great food for amazing prices for the city. The service was great! our waitress was so kind! our food came out just was we ordered. plus they had a great atmosphere! this is on my short list of nyc places to return to!

    Good, but...

We went for brunch and were surprised at the selections and value for the money (especially with a celiac dining with us). HOWEVER, we ordered the iced tea sangria with our brunch and were told they had no tea, so it would be regular sangria, which was fine. The waitress did not inform us that there was an $11 price difference between the two, and so we were surprised with this fact when the bill came. Other than that, an enjoyable experience, and surprisingly empty for a Sunday at noon.

    Happy with Cinema!

Myself and several of my coworkers have frequent Cinema for lunch. We thought is was a great lunch option. The food was really good (they have great salads), and the waitstaff was very professional. It was a little bit of a wait, but other than that I think it is great. I went there recently for dinner and was just as pleased. They also have a nice selections of wine. Try the marinated steak salad, mini burgers, crab cakes, chicken salad and calamari...all great choices!

    What happened to this place?

I don't know what happened to this particular branch of the Cinema chain, but they moved across Fifth Avenue and rather than looking like a cozy inviting escape to Hollywood, it now looks like a cross between a Cosi's sandwich shop and a generic sushi restaurant. The portions have gotten smaller even though the prices have remained the same. The menu has changed drastically - many of their old favorites are no longer available. I went there for lunch recently and we made the mistake of ordering dessert. After waiting nearly 25 minutes for our dessert to be served, we finally had to cancel it and pay and leave.
