    Brunch Pre-Fixe Deceiving

The waiter should have informed me that the English Breakfast tea I ordered before he took our brunch order, was not the "tea" included with the brunch pre-fixe. Really? Give me a break! So, I had to pay an additional $3.50 for the "special" tea instead of a Lipton tea. If I had known that, I would have asked for regular Lipton tea since I barely drank it anyway. Also, only the "classic" mimosa is included, not any of the other yummy drinks listed first. Also slightly deceiving. I know this may seem trite, but it is little things like this that drive me crazy about restaurants! Just be honest and say you really want to charge me $18-25 for brunch, not $14.95.

    Best Food , Friendly Service

Have patronized this place for 25 years and have seen the ups and downs. Since last years renovation love the new menu and look , they have also adressed their service and delivery issues. Great Job.

    Appalling

Went in for Brunch early sunday afternoon, waiter had red eyes like he'd been on the hard stuff all night. Screwed up the order, we waited close on a half hour. Asked the manager where our food was, he told our waiter who began glaring at us from the register then came over and then poured water over my wife's feet and started arguing with us as to how long we'd been waiting!! After this we left and found a more civilized place. The service is absolutely appalling, go there at your peril. He made Basil Fawlty look efficient.

Huh? What happened to this place?

I've been to this restaurant several times before and regarded it as a great find. The scones served before each meal were light and delicious, the entrees were very good, and the service was excellent. But today I went there with friends and everything had changed. Construction was going on INSIDE the restaurant, at 12:30 p.m. when the lunch crowd was there. Service was incredibly slow, and no staff person came by our table or apologized for the long wait. The only way I got us something to eat was by asking for bread. The waiter produced scones that were much heavier than the ones that used to be served, and not nearly as tasty. Finally the food came and it was fairly good, but nowhere near as good as before. Never did anyone apologize for the long wait, until one friend started talking to our waiter, who then apologized profusely. Apparently this place is under new management. I won't go there again.

    subpar delivery

i am a repeat customer, but lately the delivery service has been really poor. they overcooked my steak salad (ordered med. rare, and came med. well), and did not include any dressing

    Boring Food, Poor Service

The food is passable, but murray hill / kips bay has a wealth of better options. Less appetizing than the food was the obnoxious service on the saturday afternoon shift, who alone provides enough incentive to never go back. You'd think that someone in the hospitality business might care a little more about screwing up orders.

    An Upscale Diner

The best part of this place is the people watching that can be done from the street seating as well as the windows. The food is medicore and not worth it with so many other better restaurants in the neighborhood.
