The Best Margarita in NYC and people are really friendly... I'll come back really soon!

The recent changes in management and servers has seriously downgraded the ambiance and service at Cilantro. The final nail in the coffin for me came the other evening at 11pm when suddenly the chairs went up around my group, smelly mops started to do their thing, all while my party was trying to finish dinner. So much for wanting a relaxing evening out!

I used to love coming here with my friends when it was a welcoming, fun spot. Recently this place has sunk to medicore food with rushed/poor service. Would not recommend Cilantro to anyone anymore!

One of the best chicken sandwiches ever- and the spicy fries, while not spicy spicy- are great!

I had been to this restaurant twice for lunch with colleagues. The ambiance and the service at lunch hour pleased me so much that I took my out of town close friends for dinner on Saturday evening. I disliked my time there because the waiter came several times within a few minutes of seating us to ask us if we ready with our order. The entire meal service was a rushed experience. At the end of our meal we were told that customers were waiting for our table and so we should leave. From the beginning I felt so much pressure to get the entire dinner moving along like fast food. I would rate the food below average for the price charged although the ambiance and music are great. Bottom line is for you are looking for a quick dinner this may the place for you! We will definitely never go there again and would not recommend it to those wanting a meal they can calmly swallow.

With the weather getting nice my boyfriend and I wanted to go somewhere to get a good drink, something to eat and to sit outside. I am a vegetarian and saw they had Vegetarian Chili I was so excited! When the waiter came over I asked him what was in the chili, as he started to rattle off all the veggies I grew hungrier and hungrier – then he said Chicken Broth – I stopped him and repeated chicken broth in Vegetarian Chili – his reply was Yes, how do you expect it to have flavor without chicken broth. Very Surprised I asked him to please check with the chef if indeed the VEGETARIAN chili was made with chicken broth… he came back 2 minutes later and said yes I just checked and it does indeed have chicken broth in it. Shocked I sat there and ate plantain chips and salsa – which were very good. So the moral of my review – Vegetarians beware!

Cilantro has become one of our mainstay Mexican restaurants. It wouldn't be anything spectacular in California, but it definitely stands out amongst the lousy options in NYC. Their enchiladas and fajitas are very good. Their salsa is of the pico de gallo variety, and it's also quite tasty. I've been to Cilantro 15-20 times, and service is always stellar. Plus, it's one of the few NYC restaurants to offer free refills on my beloved Diet Coke.
