    Great place for lunch

I'm not a big fan of this place for dinner; I think they try a little too hard. But for lunch it is great if you are looking for basic but tasty fare. The service is always friendly although it does take awhile for your food to arrive.

    Delicious and intimate dining

We shared delicious guacamole. Mark had potato soup, which was just OK. I had really good tuna, he had OK mixed grill, we shared platanos and ice cream desert. The wait staff as warm and gracious. We're coming back.

    Wear gloves

Chips and salsa OK. The food is mediocre at best; salmon was not fresh and the chicken fajitas lacked taste. Best part of the meal was the rice.

    The Food is not recommended

The Margartitas are excellent (and strong) so I gave this place two chances. The quesadilla was fine, but who could screw that up? The first time I went, neither my date nor myself (we both love mexican food) enjoyed the enchilladas. We liked the margaritas so much that we went back. I ordered the steak because I figured it would be at least okay. I was proven wrong. At least the potatoes were okay. She had the fajitas and did not like them at all. I must admit that I was unwilling to try them. At least we had a table on the street and the service was adaquate. The first time we went we sat at the bar waiting for a table and that was a great experience. Stay at the bar, don't order food and you will be very pleased.

    Only ok

I just moved into the area and ate here last Friday. The chips and salsa were good, but I'm pretty sure the soup was store-brand chicken soup with a little lime. After the soup, we were prepared for the worst, but our entrees were actually decent. Our waiter was rude, but the rest of the staff seemed friendly. All in all, it was only ok, and I probably won't go again.

    Great Service

I had the chicken fajitas and a few sides. I had to send the chicken back because it was not cooked through. But the waiter was very nice and the meal was great.

    Local standby

We live on the UES and eat at Cilantro several times per year. The frozen margaritas are huge and affordable. The service is always friendly and prompt. We love the complimentary chips and salsa. The food is very good- steaks, chicken, salmon, fish tacos.. we have tried almost everything and have never been disappointed.
