all that meat they serve you is deliciously grilled but you get full really fast so it is really not worth the money. the appetizer/salad bar is not that amazing. so i would unless you can eat a good amount of meat, it is really not worth it.

I had eaten here years ago on a business lunch and enjoyed the food and atmosphere then, and wanted to take my wife there. It's not what I remembered... First, the atmosphere (to me) was more like a Houlihans or TGIF. People standing all over, handing out a "beeper" for when your table is ready. Seems as though the atmosphere is VERY casual (which is fine, but not how I remembered it, and not how I think they come off based on advertising). Next, we had 6;30 reservations on Saturday. Now, I realize this is NYC, but after waiting 1/2 an hour (it's now 7pm) and being told they were JUST getting done with seating the 6pm reservations, I thought that was a bit much. I mean, it's not some upscale trendy place. Needless to say, we went elsewhere. So, I'm sad that the wife didn't get to experience what was, at least when I was there years ago, some really good Brazilian BBQ. Not bashing the food here (as I can't), just figured I'd let others know what to expect from a service/atmosphere point of view.

I came to plataforma with my girlfriend celebrating our anniversary. The food was not bad, but I have had better brazilian bbq for much cheaper. And for that the value is overpriced. I enjoyed the salad bar though, but it was not what we came here for. The service was filled with varied experiences. The maitre'd and the waiters were very attentive and polite but kept on taking our extra chairs at our table to fill other tables, which was an annoyance. At the end of dinner, we ordered a slice of cheesecake from the dessert waiter. He messed up our order and the maitre'd corrected his mistake (in which the the dessert waiter was charged for it). So from that point on, the dessert waiter was quite rude, giving us scowls from time to time blaming us for a mistake he made. Ruined our mood. If not for the service, it would have been a somewhat decent experience. For that reason, my girlfriend and I will not be making a return to Plataforma anytime soon.

I was there last week. My lovely friend was having a birthday party for about 30 people. CP is definitely a good place to entertain large groups for dinner. The atmosphere was good; spacious and generally inviting. The service was very good, considering it was a Friday night. Basically, we ate for two hours. Salad bar, yes. That is an awesome meal by itself. Fresh as hell. Everything was swapped out quickly. Then the real fun starts. Three or four sides, bread, drinks, meat guys circle the table. I am giving CP 4.5 out of 5. Food was either good or very good. Same goes for the service. The complaints I’ve read don’t hold up. Salty? Yes, the sirloin wrapped in bacon was. It was delicious. Poor service? Just getting turkey sausage? Maybe you looked like a deadbeat. The turkey sausage was to die for. There was so many choices. All good. Expensive? Are you from Omaha? It’s only expensive if the food is bad. Dinner for two with a bottle of wine (tax and tip) could be done for less than $200. Or just go for lunch. Definitely go sometime.

This place is amazing. I've been there two times and both times the service was great and the food was more than what I expected. I am not a huge meat eater, but the sirloin was so dilicious, I felt like I might have eaten a whole cow's worth. The salad bar is also incredible. I would highly recommend this place!

I was with a group of 10. We were in New York after a cruise and had heard of your resturant. We made reservations for one of the nights were were in town. I have never been to a resturant like this and had a GREAT time. We all did. Thank you for a great meal and time. We will be back.

Went there for the first time and was completely amazed! On the pricey side but was completely worth it. The salad bar was fabulous, the drinks were delicious, and the variety of meats was devine. Definitely will be returning there for another meal.
