Churrascaria Plataforma

First to remark on some other reviews here. One, it is NOT $80/person, but actually $59/person, unless they went on a special night, just check the web site. Two, I arrived without reservation after 8:00pm, it looked hopping, but the 2 of us only waited 5 mins or less for our table. Service and staff were very good, but the only minor thing I noticed is that they rarely smile, even when I saw them singing happy birthday to a person, not one of them smiled and all looked like that had other tables to get to. Service however was very fast and efficient, polite and ever-present, but not warm, caring or personal. Oh, actually, Christine at the salad bar was very friendly and smiled. I tried to let the manager know how great she was to us! The place is clean and well designed, but monotone in color. It could use some candles, flowers and sound absorption! Very loud and conversation can be difficult! I don't understand why soft drinks and dessert are not included in the price, so be prepared to pay extra for them. They have signs on the table to this effect, but still you should know. Again, food was fantastic in selection, quality, taste and temperature. You could easily make a meal of the appetizer bar itself! I'm a foodie and was very pleased overall and will return (on special occasions). We sampled many meat selections, never a repeat before we were so full, we asked them to stop bringing us more. :)

Churrascaria Plataforma is down right fun! It is a real party atmosphere best enjoyed with a group. That being said, you're in for a treat. First go hungry because the food simply does not stop. You begin with a trip to the buffet (hint, the fish including the shrimp are on the OTHER side of the buffet so save room on your plate to add it on.) Once you've had your fill at the buffet, you flip your card to "green" and the meat madness begins. All the meats are good, but, if you have the chance to sample the lamb and the prime rib -- well, they are truly exceptional. Don't pass by the garlic bread (yum)! In fact, ask for 2 pieces, it's that good! Sides really aren't necessary -- you have so much going on with the meat, you'll never really miss it, and, it doesn't make sense to fill up on items such as potatoes. The negatives? Well, it's loud, so, it isn't the place for a romantic date. Some of the groups can be a bit rowdier than others, and, you'll eat so much you'll feel like you're waddling out of the restaurant instead of walking. I look forward to returning soon!

Loud and busstling, this place has a festive atmosphere with a diverse crowd. But all the food - especially the buffet - is pretty low-end. Some cuts of meat are tasty but they try to fill your plate with low grade cuts, get you full and get you out. For the price you can go to any Steakhouse in NY and eat like a King, so I don't know what the draw is here beyond novelty.

Been going to Plataforma for years and absolutely love the place. It might be expensive but you are paying for an experience in dining as well. The beef is absolutely perfect, always cooked the way I ask, and very tender. The selections of meats is fantastic. I try to limit myself at the salad bar so I can eat more of the main course.

It is $80 per person just for food, NOT including lousy desserts. So if you think you can eat $80 worth of apps and cheap cuts of meat (no prime or aged meat here), go for it. But you likely can't, so you might as well go a great steakhouse, get a $50 steak and a couple of $12 sides and come out on top. Fun idea, but not worth it at all.

i went there on Saturday and was told there is a 30 minute wait. We waited for 1.5 hours and watched then seat parties of 6 or more ahead of us. there were other parties of two who waited longer than we did. Very disappointed with the service
